Diagnose and activate prior knowledge; hook and engage learners’ interest;
ask questions and encourage learners and welcome tentative response as guide to learners’
further exploration.

About the Lesson:

This part of the lesson is composed of two paragraphs. The first paragraph
provides connection of the previous lesson with the sub-theme “Upholding Understanding of
Broadening Horizons”. The second paragraph gives a preview of the lesson to be discussed
relating it to real-life situations.
Objectives:
In this lesson, the learners are expected to:

Knowledge: Make a generalization and stand.

Skills: Cite evidence to support a general statement and determine the
worth of ideas in the listened text.
Attitude: Express one’s beliefs based on material viewed.

Instructional Procedure:
a. Preliminaries

1. Task 1: Changes Attack

a. Ask the learners if they have experienced huge changes in their
lives.
b. Present them the arrows on the tv screen and ask 2 or 3 learners to
share inevitable changes that happened in their lives.
c. If the word inevitable is too difficult for them to understand,
explain to them the meaning. Once it is already cleared, give them
a minute to think.
