Study for the San Gabriel Project located north of Moquegua city, in Ichuña District, in the
Province of General Sanchez Cerro.
The project consists of an underground mine, process plant, ancillary buildings and
associated infrastructure. The process plant comprises of primary crushing, grinding,
gravimetric concentration, intensive cyanidation, lixiviation, cyanide detoxification, AARL
system, and tailings filtering areas to produce dore bars.
2 Scope
This document shall define the minimum requirements for the design, supply, fabrication,
delivery and erection of profiled steel roof and wall sheeting, fixings, and accessories,
including rainwater goods, ventilation fittings, and insulation, for the San Gabriel Feasibility
Study.
The requirements stated here in shall be considered mandatory. Deviations from any criteria
stated in this document shall not be applied without prior written approval from the
Civil/Structural Engineer, Authorised Engineer or their Representative. This document shall
be read in conjunction with the Project Scope of Work, Design Criteria, Technical and
Engineering Specifications.
3 General Requirements
All systems and materials covered by this Specification shall consider the site conditions
specified in the Site Conditions Design Criteria, document N° 104688-01-0000-GX-DC-001.
All systems and materials covered by this Specification shall consider a design life of 15 years.
3.3 Units
The units to be used in the Project will be according to the International System of Units (SI).

5 Materials
Steel roof and wall sheeting shall be Calaminon TI, Precor TR4 profile, or approved
equivalent, to ASTM A 792 with Zincalum AZ-150 or similar approved finish, comprising pre-
painted baked-on silicone modified polyester paint system, to selected colours. Sheeting shall
be 0.5 mm thickness.
Sheets shall be supplied in standard lengths, unless shown otherwise on the drawings.

5.2 Translucent Sheeting
Translucent sheeting shall be glass fibre reinforced polyester. Profile shall match the steel
sheeting, colour shall be clear, and minimum weight shall be 2400 g/m2. Heavier gauge
sheeting shall be provided where shown on the drawings.
Cappings, moulds, and flashings shall be manufactured from Zincalum coated steel sheet
with minimum thickness of 0.6 mm to ASTM A 792. Preformed pieces shall be used wherever
possible. All flashings and fittings shall be of adequate girth to fully weather the opening that
they protect. Preformed polyethylene foam closure strips shall be used where applicable to
assist dust and weather sealing.
5.4 Fixings
All fixings shall be of a type recommended by the sheeting manufacturer. Sheeting fasteners
shall be protected steel self-drilling screws to Manufacturers recommendations. Screws to
roofing shall suit crest fastening and shall be complete with EPDM sealing washer.
Screws to wall sheeting shall suit valley fastening and shall be complete with EPDM sealing
washer. Side lap fasteners shall be self-drilling screws complete with EPDM washers.
Gutters and downpipes shall be fabricated from Zincalum coated steel sheet or similar to
ASTM A 792 of minimum 1.2 mm base metal thickness to the dimensions shown on the
drawings. Alternatively, down pipes may be fabricated from UPVC sewer pipe with solvent
welded joints.
Fixed roof ventilators of steel construction shall be provided of the size and type shown on
the drawings. Effective bird screens shall be fitted. Full flashing up to and around the
ventilators shall be provided. External finish shall match the roof sheeting.
Wall louvers shall be horizontal operating blade type, 150 mm minimum depth, with 'storm
proof' blades. Components shall be manufactured from Zincalum protected steel. Effective
bird screens shall be fitted. Each bank of louvers shall have a separate operating handle,
located conveniently for manual operation from the closest floor or walkway.
5.8 Insulation
Roof insulation shall be 50 mm thick fibreglass blanket with reinforced laminated aluminium
foil adhered to one face, extending at least 150 mm beyond one longitudinal edge. The
insulation shall be equivalent to BradfordTM 'AnticonTM' blanket with Thermofoil 750 facing.
6 Drawings
The Authorised Engineer or Representative will provide design drawings showing the extent,
levels, and locations of sheeted areas, including major openings, together with typical
requirements for flashings and details. The design drawings will include details of the
supporting purlins and girts.

Only drawings endorsed 'Issued for Construction' shall be used for fabrication.
7.1 Transportation
Dimensions of sheeting bundles shall comply with the relevant Statutory Regulations for
maximum dimensions of transport vehicles. The Contractor shall be responsible to obtain all
necessary permits and to provide any escorts required for transport of oversized loads.
Sheeting bundles shall be off loaded and stored on site without causing any damage to the
material. Bundles shall be neatly stacked clear of the ground on substantial bearers in stacks
not more than one metre high. Stacks shall be securely covered with waterproof sheeting or
tarpaulins. If bundles become wet, the sheets shall be immediately separated and dried prior
to restacking.
7.3 Handling
Sheeting bundles may be craned on to roof frames only if suitable spreader bars and fabric
slings are used.
Care shall be taken to preserve the surface finish of sheets. Sheets shall not be slid or dragged
over any rough surface or over each other.
Workers walking on the roof shall wear soft soled shoes (without ribs which may collect small
stones) and shall walk only where recommended by the manufacturer, observing all safety
requirements.
8 Installation
8.1 General
Installation of all cladding materials shall be carried out by experienced workers in accordance
with the manufacturer's instructions to produce a completely weatherproof envelope to the
building. Installation shall suit the local conditions at the site for wind loading, rainfall, and
thermal expansion.
Installation methods and practices shall comply with the relevant Statutory legislation and
regulations for construction safety, and shall be subject to the Authorised Engineer or
Representative's approval.
All visible lines of fasteners and laps shall be true to line and level. Installation shall commence
from the leeward end of the building so that side laps are afforded maximum protection from
the prevailing weather. Sheets shall be fixed in single lengths wherever possible.
8.2 Roofing
Roof sheets shall be installed with crest fastenings as recommended by the manufacturer.

penetrations and joints elsewhere as required shall be sealed using a flexible neutral-cure
sealant approved by the sheeting manufacturer and the Authorised Engineer or
Representative. The sealant shall be waterproof, ultraviolet resistant, sag-resistant, and
suitable to the thermal conditions applicable to the project. Mating surfaces shall be cleaned
and primed as recommended by the sealant manufacturer, and sealant shall be applied
continuously by gun.
