1. What are the 3 big ideas of your research problem?

(3 important concept that forms

the foundation of your research?)
The three big concepts of the research problems are the learning style of the students,
their level of readiness, and their academic performance. First, it is apparent that every
student has learning style wherein some of them already know it, while some of them
have no idea at all. This makes the study important since it aims to inform and educate
the students about the importance of learning styles. The learning style surely has
something to do with the level of readiness and academic performance of the students
which makes it important for them to be aware of their own learning style. Second, the
level of readiness of the students can also be affected by the learning style. If the students
do not know how to learn all the lessons that are being taught to them based on their
learning style, they would not become ready at all. Lastly, the academic motivation of the
students is affected by the learning style. The way students learn and apply their learnings
to the tasks that they are required to do, will have an impact to their academic motivation.
In any point of view, these three concepts surely have relationship with one another.
2. Is your study manifesting an obvious alignment? Present 3 instances where your
study showcases not only a conceptual alignment but also methodological
alignment?
Based on the research methodologies, it is apparent that all of the concepts identified in
the research problems will be answered. It is because all the research problems can be
answered by the respondents according to the best of their knowledge especially that it
involves their experiences, perceptions, and observations. The respondents of the study
will be the students of a particular school, which is the Jose Rizal University. By the
identification of the respondents, it is obvious that we researchers have chosen the best
respondents who can definitely have answers to the questions that are incorporated in the
research instrument. Technically speaking, the research instrument will only ask
questions that are related to the topic itself, specifically their academic motivation, level
of readiness, and learning style. These are the aspects that are aimed by the study to
conduct and answer with the help of the researchers. Since the research problems are not
that scientific in aspect, it can be easily answered since the researchers will just need to
conduct a survey to the respondents to obtain necessary data about this matter. Therefore,
all of the questions in this research will definitely have answers that are vital/important to
us researchers.
3. Present 1 thesis and 1 anti-thesis of your literature after that state your synthesis
According to Roig (2019), a student who knows his/her learning style has potential when
it comes to educational purposes. This illustrates that a student who is aware of his
learning style has a higher chance of being successful in everything that he does when it
comes to academic matters. However, since there is an implementation of online learning
due to the emergence of the pandemic, the kinesthetic learning style may face struggles
while studying, because they learn best when they spend energy and move actively but
since the transition from face-to-face to online learning, kinesthetic learners cannot apply
in-person demonstrations and laboratory sessions due to the distance learning modality.
These two related literatures have contrasting ideas wherein the former said that once a
student knows his learning style, he can do everything to be successful in academic
matters, while the latter stated that kinesthetic learning style cannot be applied in any
situation. There is a contrasting idea between the two of them, but there is actually a good
point between them. It is indeed true that having awareness of one's learning style can
help students be successful, but it is also true that not all learning style is applicable to
every kind of situation. The acceptance of both points is crucial to the connection of these
two contrasting ideas. They just need to utilize it appropriately, and adapt to the
instructional techniques applied by the teachers.
4. Discuss the output of your study, how do you see this output as critical to the
progress of your research environment and research participant.
The results of the study will redound to the benefit of the society, most especially to the
students. It is because the students will gain knowledge about the importance of learning
style. Aside from the fact that they can be aware of their own learning style, they will
also realize the essence of it. They will not understand how the learning style can have
impact to the level of their readiness as well as their academic motivation. This study will
definitely provide various kinds of knowledge to the students, teachers, schools, and
society. The results of the research can encourage everyone, especially the schools to
focus on this aspect. They will be aware of how learning style can have great effects to
the level of readiness and academic performance of the students, which is enough for
them to focus on this matter. The schools can be motivated to fully develop their students
into something that they will not become afraid of any academic challenges that they
might face in the future because they know the learning style, which they can use in order
for them to be successful in their academic journey, tasks, and challenges that they
currently face and encounter in the future.
TITLE
“The influence of Learning Styles affecting the formation of Academic Motivation
and Academic Readiness among BEED and BSED Program of Jose Rizal
University”

OBJECTIVES:
To know – Researcher aim to determine the learning styles of the student during the new
normal;
To measure – Researcher aim to assess the influence of learning styles affecting the
academic motivation and their readiness to go online or hybrid learning set up;
Output – Researcher aim to conduct seminar that will aim to help the students to be
aware in their own learning style that will minimize their academic hindrances during
new normal.

Independent variables
The profile of the respondents in terms of Sex, Age, Learning style, Year level, Program
modality and Academic motivation.
Respondents Variables
Academic readiness, fully online and hybrid.

Respondents – will be the

College students under BEED and BSED program.

Research Invironment
Jose Rizal University

Research Instrument
Survey

Population and sampling

Assumed total of 111 students under BEED and BSED in all year level.

Hypothesis
Students who have a learning style that is well-suited to the teaching style of their
instructors will have higher levels of academic motivation and academic readiness than
students who do not have a well- matched learning style.
