Why is Zag Argentina Different?

• Hockey tours by hockey people. We know hockey around the world and understand how to
maximize the playing assets of Argentina for our teams traveling there. No other organization in
the USA can say they are a majority owned and operated by current high level hockey people.
This attention to hockey detail is reflected in our hockey programs and why hockey teams from
around the world use our services.
• Programs are all inclusive.
• Our long time tour manager and Zag South America manager is a big part of our organization.
As we progress you will work with her to find your optimal itinerary. A few thoughts on our Zag
South America Director:
• She will be with you for much of your trip taking care of every need. We also have
an assistant Zag manager who stays with you overnight.
• She was also a long time Argentine National Team member and played in numer-
ous World Cup’s, CT’s, Olympics. An amazing asset for you while on tour and also
a great contact for future recruiting.
• She is a director of one of Argentina’s top hockey clubs.
• She was a part of our coaching community for a number of years. She coached D1
hockey for a number of years which provides her with invaluable insight and under-
standing for what our U.S. girls need on and off the field.
• She has a strong network within Argentina’s elite b/c of her affiliation with the Na-
tional team for many years, her close ties to one of Argentina most important prep
schools, and as director of one of its better hockey clubs...all important over the
years to us when arranging unique activities like our “homestay program”, tickets to
the most important soccer games, and other unique, exclusive activities.
• Most importantly she is Argentine and in Argentina the people are very proud and
when push comes to shove...being Argentine is critical to getting things done on the
field and off.
• Sil, is also instrumental in coordinating special competitions with Argentine National
teams(our last 2 teams visiting Argentina played their U18 and U16 National
teams.) No other organization has the reach and potential to provide such opportu-
nities.

• Many of our team members have lived and played in Argentina. Our founding partner’s family is
also Argentine, so sharing the culture and hockey she has always known is a passion of hers.
• We are pioneers and the first sports touring organization to make community service a manda-
tory component of what we do. We have developed some fantastic service programs which work
to give back to those in need.
• We strive to create unique activities which expose the girls to the culture on a more personal
level..whether it be our optional homestay program, tango lessons, cooking lessons, community
service...our experiences work to shape and transform people.

Why Zag?

Zag, Noun: “Zag” by most definitions is defined as a sudden change of direction. In familiarizing oneself with
Zag Sports it is important to understand the culture of Zag. We at Zag Sports hope our international sports
experiences and adventures provide our teams, youth, and their families a change of direction or a “Zag” in
their life. Travel is a wonderful educational tool and our experiences are carefully designed to allow
our athletes to stretch themselves, whether it is on the field of play, through adventure activities, through cul-
tural interaction, or through volunteer experiences. Our sincere hope is to provide international experiences
which will positively impact the lives of those participating.

Why are so many great international, college, high school, and club hockey teams turning to Zag to
develop their international touring experience? Here’s why we are different?

Hockey tours by hockey people.

We are leaders in that we are the only team touring organization whose majority ownership, operating staff
abroad, and other critical staff are current high level hockey people. Many are D1 coaches or former D1
coaches who understand the needs of our U.S. teams on the field and more importantly have a passion game
and for the athletes they work to develop.

Changing lives and giving back.

We are pioneers in a new breed of hockey tour we have coined “Philanthropic Hockey Tours”. We feel a re-
sponsibility to develop international hockey experiences which also serve as vehicles to serve a greater good.
Every Zag experience has a required element of international community service. It may be working with
Habitat for Humanity for ½ day, giving hope to Argentine orphans, working with Aboriginal children in Austra-
lia, or working with villagers in South Africa. International service has been a part of our fabric since our in-
ception. Not only do we work to give back on tour we also give a portion of proceeds to our not for profit part-
ners at World Vision and others. Whatever the hockey playing country we visit…there is opportunity…
opportunity to make a difference.

Interactive cultural and adventure experiences.

We strive to develop creative activities which work to expose the athletes to the culture from the inside out.
Seeing history and culture is important, but experiencing it is what we do at Zag! Whether it be “homestay”
with an Argentine family, a pizza making lesson with an Italian Pizza chef, surfing like an Aussie, or taking on
the rapids of the Swiss Alps, we hope that our experiences challenge our athletes to grow in ways they have
never thought possible.

Passion.
We do this because we have a passion for what we do. A passion to make a difference in some small way.
A passion to develop the whole person off the field and the elite athlete and team on the field.
