David’s Heroic Journey

In the year 3500 mankind had regressed after the nuclear World War 3. They lived in
villages and kingdoms, a disastrous result, only, something was different, there was magic!
Magic in the air, in the earth, in the water, everywhere. Humans could live longer and be stronger
than ever before yet so were the beasts and insects of the world. One of these kingdoms that were
created in the aftermath was called Pludig bordered by other territories called Klohip, Gorsah,
and Joost. Our main character David Grunfield lived in one of Pludig’s villages called Dundirt
Village. He lived happily in this united village, led by Josh Bright, with his family and friends
such as Lily Parky and Adelle Nolan. Now this village was not without its fair share of rumors,
being as small as it is there were stories of Lily being seen in an alley digging up the earth, an
orphan who went missing, and even the occasional appearance of beautiful woman named
Delania Gorn. How could such a village have rumors? Well, if you must know, it is divided into
three sections and surrounded by farms, the first part being just a manmade place of cobbled
streets and wood houses, the second being filled with sand dunes and cacti alike, and of course
the last’s environment was full of ice with strange geometrical shapes formed at every which
corner. However, the biggest turmoil the village would have would come in the form of a
mercenary company led by Adam Hacker.
“David! Come on, get up!” A loud voice roused David, the voice was David’s aunt
Dania, she was living with him as well as his parents, grandparents, and siblings. They all lived
together in the family manor.
“Huh?” A disgruntled male voice sounded in the room David was gaining his bearings as
he was becoming aware and awake from his sleep. Stretching and groaning he got up from bed
ready to take on the day.
“Don’t huh me David! Come on, get up and get ready. Today is the big day! Today is the
day of your mana awakening.” exclaimed Dania for she was also excited for him.

“Oh, you’re quite right aunty, thanks for reminding me!” David quickly changed in the restroom,
then charged into the foyer of the mansion.

“Woah there, David! Slow down why don’t you.” said his father Leon with his boisterous voice,
already up and about prepared for such an energetic child as they all were on their day of mana
awakening.

“Oh, come on dad help me awaken my mana please!” requested David.

“Alright, alright, I understand, today after all is the big day, so let us get right to it.” said his
father, understandingly. “Sit here, on this chair, chop chop.” David sat down earnestly as Leon
laid his hands on David’s shoulder. Stirring his mana with his will Leon started channeling it into
David’s body. David could feel it beginning his heart felt warm and then suddenly could almost
hear what his talent was the mana sung to him like everyone else who awakened what they had
received as their unique talent he had received.

After breakfast David went out to play with his friends in the village. He found James and Ivan
but not Lily. The playing kept him occupied but only until the afternoon, after all the same
mundane things were happening even though he had awakened his magic. Having already
explored and experienced the village’s tripartite of extreme environments David was ready to
take on something new. A mystery, village rumors, specifically the one about his friend Lily. To
start off, what exactly was the rumor? It was Lily digging up the earth! What a strange thing
indeed, David thought to himself, “Today is the day that I solve this mystery!” And so off he
went, to the specified part of town, the unique street that was dirt and not cobblestone. Turning
the corner, he spotted Lily and took up a position just out of sight of her. She looked to indeed be
digging something when suddenly he heard a large clunk, Lily giggled with joy as she dug and
dug revealing a treasure chest of sorts. David then made his presence known to her. “Hey Lily,
what are you doing with that treasure chest, how did you know it would be here?” The girl
looked shocked as David appeared, a bit appalled even before continuing on with her pretty
smile.

“Oh hi David. I had found a treasure map in mom’s drawer and wanted to follow it and it led me
to this street and even actual treasure!” Opening the chest, it revealed its contents being a spear
and ring. “Ooh, how pretty, a sparkling ring, I will take that and leave the spear to you David,
you know being the spear wielder that you are.”

“REALLY, LILY? YOU WOULD LET ME HAVE THIS magnificent, work of art, masterpiece,
best thing I’ve ever seen, spear?
