1. Scope
This guide describes how to mount up to two Cato Socket X1500 and their power adapters on the
shelf of a Cato Networks rack mounting kit.

2. List of Rack Mount Kit Parts

The Cato Socket X1500 mounting kit contains the following parts:

The letters in the Reference Key column below are used in this guide to designate the various
parts.

3. Mounting the Cato Socket Components on the Shelf

3.1 Mounting the Cato Socket X1500 Power Adapter
To mount the Cato Socket X1500 Power Adapter on the shelf:

1. Place a power adapter at the

rear of the shelf (A) between
the left or right pair of holes.

2. Position a power adapter

bracket (B) on the power
adapter and align the bracket's
screw holes with the shelf
screw holes. Secure the power
adapter bracket to the shelf
using two screws (D).

3.2 Mounting the Cato Socket X1500

To mount the Cato Socket X1500 on the shelf:

1. Use two screws (D) to secure a

Cato Socket X1500 side bracket
(C) to the right side of the Cato
Socket X1500.

2. Use two screws (D) to secure

the second Cato Socket X1500
side bracket (C) to the left side
of the Cato Socket X1500.

3.  Mounting the Cato Socket Components on the Shelf

3. Place the Cato Socket X1500

with the side brackets at the
front of the shelf and secure to
the shelf using the side bracket
thumb screws on both sides.

To mount another Cato Socket X1500 and its power supply in the shelf, repeat the steps in
Section 3.1 - Mounting the Cato Socket X1500 Power Adapter and Section 3.2 - Mounting the
Cato Socket X1500

4. The shelf is now ready for

installing in a standard rack.
