1) There is a link between changes in the atmospheric CO2 (ppm) and the changes in
atmospheric temperatures (°C).
2) ● There is a constant increase in CO2 levels but with fluctuations.

3) ● 1960 – 317 ppm and 2008 – 380 ppm

● An increase of 63 ppm _ 63. 317 × 100 = 19.9% of increase

4)
● Photosynthesis rates increases as spring and summer arrives, as CO2 is needed for
photosynthesis this make that CO2 levels decrease from the atmosphere and so levels go
down.
● Photosynthesis is minimal required in the winter, so, less CO2 is removed so levels
increase.

5)There is a trend to increase.

6) In both years, averages before were falling for about 10 years so would have said that the
temperature of Earth had been rising.

7) There is an increase, but it is also fluctuating.

8. The Pinatubo event happened in 1991; at that time global temperatures were high.
This may be due to:
● Pinatubo put large amounts of lava and ash into the stratosphere, this makes a trap for
heat in the atmosphere.

In El Niño years, global temperatures were higher. This is due to the fact that the cold water
is prevented from reaching, so ocean surface temperatures stay higher.
