This concem for neighbors can take many forms. It means to ensure that our neighbors have the basic necessities. A Muslim should not eat if his or her neighbor is sleeping hungry. It means that a Muslim must wish for his reighbor what he wishes for himself. t means sharing their happiness ard sorrow. Further, it means not to spy on them and respect their privacy, not to gossip about them, not to harm them in any way. Even Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said,” | fear that neighbors might get the share in the Inheritance.” According to the Noble Qur'an, all of humenity came out from fone couple, Adam and Eve. Thus, ‘we are all prothers and sisters. Brothers and sisters should take care of each other. They must not discriminate against each other ‘on the basis of color and race. Lesson 3 Helping the Needy Noedy and poor people have the right in our wealth. In islam, the system of Zakat is meant to help the poor and needy. The noble Qur'an teaches us that we should be generous and give the needy their share in our wealth, Poor people have the right to share our wealth and money. ‘There are many real life examples in the history of Islam, For example, the Ansar of Madina shared half with the refugees from. the city of Makkah. They shared with them everything like houses, animals, farms, money etc. So Islam Is very comprehensive religion and does not leave any section of society alone. These rules and regulations make Islam the universal ‘and everlasting religion in the world. Lesson 4 The Brotherhood of Islam A Muslim Is related to different people in different ways. First, he is very closely related tohis family members. Second, he is related to his rolatives. Finally, he Is related to other Muslims in the bond of religious brotherhood. ‘The first two relationships are based on fami fou and your brother cor you and your cousin are from a common fore-father. But the third rolationship is not based on family ties. itis based on religious ties. All ‘Muslims are related to one another through Islam. This relationship is known as the “Islamic Brotherhood”. Allah says in the Qur'an, “Indeed the believers are brothers.” (49:10) Allah also says in the Qur’an: “© you mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may know each other [more easily]. Indeed, the most noble among you in view of Allah is the most pious of you.” (49:13) All Muslims are brethren of each other even if they are from different families, races, countries, skin colour or language. This is less important when it comes to their relationship based on Islam. All the Mustims of the world form a single brotherhood or community which is known as “the Muslim Ummah”.
