2. Software installation & configuration
• All actions for operating the cell and in particular
software installation and setup request a certain
knowledge of KUKA technology.
• It is mandatory and strongly recommended to
participate in adequate KUKA College trainings, at least
in seminar “Programming 1”

Preparations on User Laptop:

• Download lates KUKA WorkVisual Software (WoV)


from KUKA Homepage
• Unzip & install WoV on your Laptop
(Standard Configuration)
• Run KUKA WoV on your Laptop
• Connect your Laptop via LAN /Ethernet to KUKA
KSI Interface on cell´s operator side
(see pics on right side)

2. Software installation & configuration
For installation of KUKA Optional Package (KOP) “Ready2_educate_vision” it is necessary to execute following
steps (as also described in user manual)

1. Only for an update: Uninstall the previous version of the ready2_educate_vision option package in
WorkVisual.
2. Install the ready2_educate_vision option package in WorkVisual.
3. Load the project from the robot controller.
4. Insert the ready2_educate_vision option package into the project.

For installation of KUKA Optional Package (KOP) “Ready2_educate_vision” it is necessary to execute following
steps (as also described in user manual)

5. The gripper must now be configured. This is carried out in the GripperSpotTech editor.
a. Open the GripperSpotTech editor via Editors > Options packages > Gripper/SpotTech. A window opens.
b. Click on the Data and Icons tab. The configuration can be loaded here.
c. The configuration file GripperEjektorConfig.xml for the gripper allocation is located in the Extras directory
under gripper_config of the KOP file.
The gripper and ejector are now configured.

For installation of KUKA Optional Package (KOP) “Ready2_educate_vision” it is necessary to execute following
steps (as also described in user manual)

6. Once this file is loaded, the project can be transferred to the controller.
7. Confirm the changes with Yes. The robot controller carries out a reboot.
