Time: 1 hour Chapters: Triangles, Arithmetic Progression

1. Are these terms in A.P. √ 2 , √8 , √ 18 , √ 32…? Also find the common

difference if they are in A.P.
2. Determine the A.P. whose 3rd term is 5 and 7th term is 9.
3. How many three digit numbers are divisible by 7?

4. In the given figure = and ∠ ADE=∠ ACB . Prove that ∆ABC is an
DB EC
isosceles triangle.

5. In the given figure, DE  BC, AD  2 cm, BD  2.5 cm,

AE  3.2 cm and DE  4 cm. Find AC and BC.

6. A vertical stick, which is 15 cm long casts a 12-cm-long shadow on the

ground. At the same time, a vertical tower casts a 50-m-long shadow on
the ground. Find the height of the tower.
7. In a flower bed, there are 23 rose plants in the first row, 21 in the second,
19 in the third, and so on. There are 5 rose plants in the last row. How
many rows are there in the flower bed?
8. Prove the Basic Proportionality Theorem, i.e., If a line is drawn parallel to
one side of a triangle to intersect the other two sides in distinct points
then the other two sides are divided in the same ratio.
9. Two A.P. have the same common difference. The difference between their
100th terms is 100, what is the difference between their 1000th terms?
