 RATIONALE
This study focuses on the causes of poor academic performance of the
students. Poor academic performance means that the students is having a trouble
in school. The students grades may go down quickly or have gradually overtime.
However, some of the students lack of understanding of what are being discussed
by the teachers. Given the fact that any students can have poor academic
performance, the researchers want to know the causes of why the students are
experiencing of having poor academic performance in their studies and how they
will come up with a solution so that they can become one of a competent
students. Otherwise, the students will continue this kind of practice that they are
okay with having poor or low academic performance. Thus, identifying this causes
and getting the root of them and contribute to the betterment of students
academic performance. The importance of the study is to give awareness to the
students so that they will not follow other who already experiencing it. Lastly, the
purposeofthis study is to give advice to the students on how they will improve,
develop and to become better as a student.
 STATEMENT OF THE
PROBLEM(SOP)
This study aims to find out what are the causes of having a poor academic performance of the students in
Boljoon National High School. Specifically, the following are investigated:
1.What is the profile of the respondents according to:
a: Age: 1st Semester grade average
b. Gender: 75 below 80-84
75-79
2.What are the primary factors contributing to poor academic performance among students?

3. What are the common causes that can affect your grades?

4. What are the strategies or steps do you think can be taken to improve academic performance?
 RESEARCH GATHERING
METHOD
The gathering method that we used in this research is survey descriptive
research method. It consists of creating questionnaires or polls and
distributing them to respondents, who then answer the questions a mix
of Surveys are the easiest and most cost-efficient way to gain feedback
on a particular topic. Descriptive survey uses questionnaires in order to
get information and answers from the respondents.
