About This Guide
This guide describes how to install Aginet ACS server. All screenshots, images, parameters
and descriptions documented in this guide are used for demonstration only.
For information about the detailed setting and configuration of Aginet ACS, please
refer to the User Guide.

Hardware Requirements
Before you get started, please make sure your PC or server meets the requirements:
• CPU: Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7
• HDD: 500GB or more
• RAM: 16GB or more

2. 1. Before Getting Started


Before the ACS installation, you need to prepare a USB flash drive, 8GB or 16GB is
recommended, for the Clonezilla installation.

2. 2. ACS Installation
The installation of ACS server is divided into two parts:
• Use a PC which runs Microsoft Windows 7/10 to create an ACS installation USB flash
drive.
• Boot the target PC/Server via ACS installation USB flash drive, and follow the
installation sequence to install the ACS server.

2. 2. 1. Create ACS Installation USB Flash Drive


1. Contact the USB flash drive to the computer and format it to FAT32 file system.
1 ) Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port on your computer, wait a few
seconds for Windows to find and detect the device.
2 ) Open the Windows Explorer or File Explorer window and find the USB flash
drive disk, generally under This PC or the similar menu, and then right-click the
USB flash drive and choose the Format option.

3 ) Make sure the File system is set to FAT32 and the Quick Format check box is
selected.

4 ) Click Start to start the formatting process.


Note:
1. Clonezilla Live USB only supports FAT32 file system.
2. Formatting the USB flash drive will remove all data on the USB disk.
2. Extract the provided ACS installation file, e.g. clonezilla-live-2019-09-18-12-img.rar
or clonezilla-live-2019-09-18-12-img.part01.exe into the formatted USB flash drive.
Tips:
1. The file name of ACS image is generally based on the release date.
2. If the USB flash drive has the folders and files like the image shown below, it is ready for ACS installation.

2. 2. 2. Restore ACS Server


Please follow instructions below to restore the ACS server to your PC/Server.
Note:
The restoring operation will erase all data from the HDD of your PC/Server.
1. Boot the PC/Server via ACS installation USB flash drive.
Once you have the bootable ACS installation USB flash drive, you can restore the
PC/Server to ACS. For this purpose, you need to set the first boot priority in the
BIOS to USB-HDD or USB-ZIP so that it can boot Clonezilla Live from your USB flash
drive.
2. Select the default settings as the display mode.
After booting up, you can find the boot menu of Clonezilla Live, please select the
Default settings, VGA 800x600 option and press Enter. Then you will see the Debian
Linux booting process bar, and then goes to next stage.

3. Check image.
Clonezilla will check the image before restoring ACS to disk.

Before starting to restore the disk image to destination disk, Clonezilla will ask you
to confirm the operation TWICE.

4. Clonezilla will restore disk image from the second disk (sdb) to first disk (sda).

Note:
If you restore the ACS server to a PC, the hardware drive sda1 will be target installation location by default.

Choose the poweroff option.

When the shutdown process is done, you will be asked to remove the disk and close
tray (if any), you just need to press Enter to continue.

After you performed all the steps mentioned above, Aginet ACS is installed and ready
to use. You can log in to Aginet ACS for further operations.

2. 3. Logging In to ACS Server


Aginet ACS uses IP 169.254.0.199/24 as its management IP. Please set your
connected PC uses the same subnet IP address (e.g. IP 169.254.0.100 and subnet
mask 255.255.255.0) for logging in to Aginet ACS. The topology for connecting to
Aginet ACS server should be like the topology as the image shown below.

You need to use a web browser of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox to log in to ACS Web
management page via URL https://169.254.0.199, the default username and password
are admin. For more information about Aginet ACS settings and configuration,
please refer to the User Guide.

Note:
The first time you connect to the server, you need to configure the browser to allow the https connection.

2. 4. License Activation
If you just upgraded your Aginet ACS to the latest version V1.x, or installed the
Aginet ACS V1.x recently, you will be redirected to the Activation and CEIP settings
when you just logged in to Aginet ACS for the first time. You just need to follow the
step-by-step instruction to complete the configuration.

After you logged in to the Web management page, you can change the ACS server IP
and related configurations on the System Settings page. For example, if you want to set
the ACS server services on IP 192.168.10.2, you can set the Host IP to 192.168.10.2,
Subnet mask to 255.255.255.0, Gateway IP to 1921.68.10.1, DNS Server to 8.8.8.8,
Server port to 7547 and DNS server to 8.8.8.8. After the setting is complete, the server
will service on your configured IP.
Note:
1. You need to connect Aginet ACS to the internet to finish the Activation and CEIP settings, and allow Aginet ACS
to
communicate through the firewall.
If the internet connection problem is detected by Aginet ACS, as the image shows below, during the activation process,
you need to click the system settings on screen to go the System Settings page, and then change the IP address to
connect your Aginet ACS server to the internet.

2. If Activation and CEIP configuration is failed, you can downgrade Aginet ACS to version 1.x or contact the technical
support for help.
