REMOVABLE DIAGONAL LACINGS


#44 or 44A Boom and #133 or 133A Luffing Jib

Problem Loose removable diagonal lacings in inserts of subject attachments.

Corrective Action Advise your customers of this problem and have them check the torque of the
attaching nuts. The nuts must be torqued dry to 300 ft-lb (407 Nm).
Clean all dirt and other debris from between lacings and lacing supports before
torquing.

WARNING
Falling Boom Hazard: Failing to install or properly tighten removable
diagonal lacings can result in structural failure of insert. Boom or jib could
collapse and fall.
Death or serious injury to personnel may occur.

Clean all dirt and other debris from between lacings and 7/8" - 9 UNC x 2-1/2" Long
lacing supports. Torque nuts dry to 300 ft-lb (407 Nm). Grade 5 Bolt with Elastic Stop Nut
