5 types of robots

1. Pre-Programmed Robots
This kind of robot would work in a programmed
environment, where they would do simple, and
repetitive tasks. An example would be robot arms. It
would insert a part to a car, to join a door on an item,
…and they can do it much faster, and more efficient
than humans.

2.Humanoid robots
Humanoid robots are a type of robot that looks
like and mimic human behaviour. These robots
usually perform human-like activities (like
running, jumping and carrying objects), and are
sometimes designed to look like us, even having
human faces and expressions. The design may be
for functional purposes, such as interacting
with human tools and
environments, for
experimental purposes,
such as the study of
bipedal locomotion, or for
other purposes.

3. Autonomous
Robots
Autonomous robots are
robots that can operate
independently without
human supervision. They can work in open
enviroments by themselves using their sensors.
One of the example for this would be the Roomba
vacuum cleaner, which uses sensors to clean up a
house faster than humans.
4. Teleoperated Robots
Teleoperated robots
are mechanical bots
controlled by humans.
These robots usually
work in extreme
geographical
conditions, weather,
circumstances,…
Examples of
teleoperated robots are the human-controlled
submarines used to fix underwater pipe leaks
during oil spills, discover a planet’s surface,
researching the underground,…

5. Augmenting Robots
Augmenting robots can replace a person’s
missing ability like to walk, to write, to read,…
The most common examples of augmenting
robots are deka arm. It was used to support a
person with no arms to write, to wave, etc.
