There are two echogenic intracardiac foci (EIF) in the left and right ventricles - EIF is seen in 1 in 20 normal babies (5%). It is not Clinically significant as it does not cause any functional abnormality in the heart. Itis a soft marker fer chromosomal abnormality, Down syndrome, in particular.
