Transport Request acts as a carrier of the configuration settings from one system to another system

or one client to another client under the same landscape

Using TR, we can transport or move all changes/ Customize setting from DEV to QA to PRD System.
Ex: Development to Quality, Golden Client to Testing Client under Development system

Types of Transport Request

1. Workbench Request: Workbench requests are cross-client. Changes done in one client are
automatically reflected in all other clients. If we use ABAP Logic during changes then use
Workbench Request.
Ex: Maximum changes related to ABAP,Changes related to Access Sequences

2. Customizing Request: Customizing requests are client specific. The changes will not be
reflected in other clients. for Example, if we made changes in DEV - 000 system then this will
not reflect in DEV - 800 Testing client system we need to do copy client by TR (T code; SCC1)
Ex: Creation of Plant, Creation of Purchasing document types, Purchasing group, Creation of
Material types, Vendor account group ,etc..

Moving TR from one Client to another client within a same server:

• T Code to move TR from one client to another client is SCC1
• TR doesn’t have to release to move withing same landscape
• SCC1 has to be performed in the destination system

Ex: If we want to move a TR from Dev 000(Golden client) to Dev 800 (Testing client) within a same
server, we should open SCC1 in 800 clients

STEP 1: - In client Dev 000(Golden client), Create a purchasing group T-Code: -OME4

STEP 1.1: - Creating a purchasing group in Dev 000(Golden client),

• Click on new entries

 • Input the purchasing group Number and description ex as shown in below fig.
• purchasing group P01 as been created in Dev 000(Golden client)
• Click SAVE.

STEP 1.3:- Save the TR Number

• Click on create request

• Give short description for create request Ex: as shown in below fig
Creation of purchase group
• Click SAVE

• TR Number as been generated as shown in below fig and continue

STEP 1.4: - Purchase group as been created P01 in Dev 000(Golden client)

Moving the TR from one client to other client within the same system
Without releasing the Transport Request (TR) T-CODE SCC1
Step 1.5: -
Ex: - Right now there is no purchasing group P01 in Dev 800(Testing client) where we can see in
below fig.
• So, Moving the Purchasing group TR ECCK900006 From DEV 000(Golden client) to DEV 800
(Testing client) t-code SCC1

• SCC1 has to be performed in the destination system

Ex: Dev 800 (Testing clients) will be the destination system

• Enter the source client (where we have done configuration) in Dev-000(Golden client) SAP AG
and transport request number ECCK900006
• Run start immediately

• Click on yes so that the data will be copied from client Dev-000(golden client) to Dev-
800(Testing client)

• Now the data as been copied from Dev-000(Golden client) to Dev-800 (Testing client)
• Now we can see the purchasing group P01 has been displayed in Dev- 800 (Testing client)

 Moving of TR from one System to other System
This process is used for move Transport Request (TR) From one system to another system belongs to
different server
Ex: Development to Quality, Quality to Production
Pre-requisites
1. TR has to be released to move to other system
a. To release a TR, Transaction Code to release TR is SE09 / SE01

2. Transaction Code STMS is used to move a TR from one System to another system

STEP 2: -Ex-Moving TR from DEV 000 To PRD 811

o To release the TR, Enter the T-Code SE09

➢ Enter the User name
➢ Tick the and click on as shown in below fig.

• Now in Dev-000 client in modifiable we can see the Main TR number ECCK900006 is called as
parent TR
• 1st we want to select and release the Child TR ECCK900007
• To release the child TR click on

• 2nd thing we want to select and release the Parent TR ECCK900006 click on so that TR will
be released

• Now we see the TR as been moved to Released status

Move transport request
This process is used for move transport request from development to quality or quality to
production server

Step 3. Transaction Code STMS is used to move a TR from one System to another system
• Now basis team will import transport request from development to quality or quality to
production server

• Select the TR number and click on impot, and give the target client and continue
• So the TR will be moved to another system
