Main interfaces (workspaces) AutoCAD Workspace AutoCAD is an organization and view of
toolbars and tabbed panels, floating classic toolbars, Quick Access toolbar, command line, status
bar, UCS icon, etc. in other words, all that we see after opening the drawing in the working window
is the interface of AutoCAD.

Quick access toolbar
The Quick Access toolbar displays options to undo and redo changes to your work. To undo
or redo a less recent change, click the drop-down button to the right of either the Undo or the
Redo button.

Tip: To quickly add a ribbon button to the Quick Access toolbar, right-click any button on the
ribbon, and then click Add to Quick Access Toolbar.

Status bar
The status bar provides quick access to some of the most commonly used drawing settings.
Using the status bar, you can toggle settings such as:
• Grid
• Snap
• Polar tracking
• Object snap
BLOCK / Creates a block definition from selected objects

BC BCLOSE / Closes the Block Editor

BE BEDIT / Opens the block definition in the Block Editor

BH HATCH / Fills an enclosed area or selected objects with a hatch pattern, solid fill, or gradient fill

BO BOUNDARY / Creates a region or a polyline from an enclosed area

BR BREAK / Breaks the selected object between two points

BS BSAVE / Saves the current block definition

BVS BVSTATE / Creates, sets, or deletes a visibility state in a dynamic block

CIRCLE / Creates a circle

CAM CAMERA / Sets a camera and target location to create and save a 3D perspective view of objects

CO COPY / Copies objects a specified distance in a specified direction

CT CTABLESTYLE / Sets the name of the current table style

CUBE NAVVCUBE / Controls the visibility and display properties of the ViewCube tool
RUNNING OBJECT SNAP

Sets an Object Snap mode so it continues for subsequent selections. See also Object Snap modes and object snap override. (OSNAP)

Specify one or more object snap modes by entering the first three characters of the name. If you enter more than one name, separate
the names with commas.

ENDpoint

Snaps to the closest endpoint of an arc, elliptical arc, line, mline, polyline segment, or ray or to the closest corner of a trace, solid, or
3D face.
MIDpoint

Snaps to the midpoint of an arc, ellipse, elliptical arc, line, mline, polyline segment, solid, spline, or xline. INTersection

Snaps to the intersection of an arc, circle, ellipse, elliptical arc, line, mline, polyline, ray, spline, or xline.

NOTE You may get varying results if you have both Intersection and Apparent Intersection on at the same time. CENter

Snaps to the center of an arc, circle, ellipse, or elliptical arc.

NODe

Snaps to a point object.

QUAdrant

Snaps to a quadrant point of an arc, circle, ellipse, or elliptical arc.

INSertion

Snaps to the insertion point of an attribute, a block, a shape, or text.

PERpendicular

Snaps to a point perpendicular to an arc, circle, ellipse, elliptical arc, line, mline, polyline, ray, solid, spline, or xline. TANgent

Snaps to the tangent of an arc, circle, ellipse, or elliptical arc.
