INTRODUCTION:
Islamic eschatology is the Islamic theology combining afterlife and the top of the world, with
special stress in the Quran on resurrection, the final judgement, and therefore the everlasting
division of the righteous, that gather up on the Day of Resurrection. It’s believed that the time is
returning which there shall be question that Allah will do as
promised.

But what would happen if there was no concept of the Day of

Judgement between us. Was the life on this planet would be the
same if we no longer had to give answers to the Almighty of all
our deeds. No, Life could never be same like it is now. Things
would be so different. There must have been a lot of violence
and disturbance even at the smallest things. A man obeys orders
of Allah, refrains from the prohibitions, do good deeds solely for
the sake of Allah as at the end he would be answerable to
everything he has been asked for.

"Work for this world as if you would live forever, and work for the hereafter as if you would
die tomorrow."

LITERATURE REVIEW:

CONCEPT OF DAY OF THE JUDGEMENT

As per Islam, God made man as an everlasting being, yet partitioned his life expectancy into two:
the temporary life and the post-death life. While the pre-passing time frame is temporary, the
post-death is endless.

There are two kinds of signs of Day of Judgement in Islam;

Major signs:

1. The emergence of Imam Mahdi

2. The advent of Dajjal
3. The appearance of Gog and Magog
4. The return of Hazrat Isa
5. Rising of sun from the West

Minor signs:

1. The disappearance of knowledge and

appearance
2. Women outnumber men
3. Bloodshed increases

3|Page
4. Sudden death becomes a common occurrence
5. The ignorant and oppressors become leaders

The above mentioned signs are very few from many which Holy Prophet (PBUH) described
during His lifetime. It is stated in Quranic verses;

“And the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the treat. ”

Basically the concept of Day of Judgement is the time when some people believe the world will
end and all the dead people will come back to life and they were
further asked questions or being judged by God about the life they live
in their temporary life.

Our life on earth is only groundwork for the never-ending life after
death. In this world, there are various types of circumstances and
difficulties. Man is here to confront those difficulties and set himself
up to be a deserving possibility for heaven. In this sense, our life on
earth is the world of opportunities. The individuals, who avail these
chances and set themselves up appropriately, will be picked to be
gotten comfortable heaven in the afterlife.

In this life, there are a wide range of tricky and undesirable circumstances. Be that as it may,
they have a reason. They comprise a preparation ground that allows us to adapt to condition, in
this manner setting us up for ceaseless passage into heaven. The Quran presents heaven along
these lines:

“God calls man to the home of peace.”

(Quran 10:25)

You desire the good of this world (i.e. the money of ransom for freeing the captives), but Allah
desires (for you) the Hereafter."

These verses clearly show that life here after is much better than this temporary world. A person
should do deeds for his better eternal life in this world. [4]

NEED FOR THE DAY OF THE JUDGEMENT

When we hear the word “The Day of Judgment” a thought enters in our mind that at this day
the right doers and the wrong doers will get whatever they deserve. So now what if there would
be no concept of the day of the judgement.

If there would be no concept of the day of the judgement it would affect our lives in two ways:

 Religious Life
 Social Life
Religious Life:

4|Page
Our religious life would be affected in such a sense that we will not be considering the
rights of Allah. Further that we will not offer obligations such as Namaz, Zakat, Roza and Hajj.
We will be neglecting all this and consider all these things as a load on our shoulders from which
our relationship with Allah will get weaker and weaker day by day.

Social Life:

Our social life would be affected in the following way:

 Haqooq ul Ibad (Rights of Humanity):

Haqooq ul Ibad includes rights of our beloved
Prophet on us. The rights of parents on their
children and vice versa. In addition, the rights of
orphans, neighbors and relatives. Thus, every
person has right on every other human being that
these rights should be safe from him by his tongue,
hand and from his treachery, inequality, back
gnawing, slandering, insulting, contempt, slaughter, envy, spying, abuse, humiliation,
lies, deception, cheating and violating their honor and disrespecting their religion and
keeping the promise to your fellow being. So, one will neglect these things and end up
hurting other people. One would not be giving charity to help the poor, if our friends
be going stray, one would not guide them, and one will not be keeping good intentions
for others, be fighting with each other and being unjust.

 Inheritance:
In Islam it is said to make sure that the wealth after the death of a person should be
distributed according to rules of sharia as prescribed by Allah in Quran. If we do not
fear the Day of Judgement then we will probably end up on cheating each other, like
elder brother usurp younger brother’s share of
inheritance or brothers deprive sisters of their
share of inheritance etc. Maybe we also end up on
illegal occupation of land, money etc.

 Interest:
If we have no concept of the resurrection day then
interest would be our main concern. The poor one
will live his life with loan on his shoulders.

 Haram Junk:
When we know that we will not be held before Allah we will do such
stuff which is considered haram such as gambling, drinking, adultery
and Zina.

So, if there would be no concept of the Day of Judgement in our minds then this is how
devastating and miserable our lives would be. That’s why there is a need of the Day of
Judgement so that we could do good deeds and live our lives peacefully and also let others to live
peacefully.

LIFE HEREAFTER:
Islam teaches its followers to believe in a life after death
which is known as Akhirah. It is an eternal life and essential
purpose of Muslim’s life. It is a place of reward for their
actions for temporary life. A belief in life hereafter strongly
affects person actions and behavior in this world. At the time of
Judgement deeds and intentions of person from the time of birth
till death will be presented in front of the Allah and their
afterlife will be decided i.e. hell or paradise. If the person did
good deeds in his life, he will be sent to heaven otherwise he
will be sent to hell.

“For one whose scales are heavy with good deeds, He will be in pleasant life....for one whose
scales are light, His refugee will be abyss”

NECESSITY TO BELIEVE IN LIFE HEREAFTER:

It is a human nature to do something by keeping in view its benefits. If there is no concept of
Qayamat in a person’s life, he will do anything good or bad without thinking that he will be
accountable for his deeds. If there is no fear of Allah, he will do anything possible for him
whether it is good or bad, it will affect whole world physically, mentally, economically etc.

In Quran, Allah Almighty has discussed day of judgement and life after here many times,
showing its importance to his followers.

But you prefer the worldly life, while the Hereafter is better and more enduring."
(Surah Al-Alaa 87:16-17)

STAGES OF LIFE HEREAFTER:

There are many stages of post death life.

 Nakir and Munkir will question dead one about his good and bad deeds in the world.
 Life in grave is time period between the deaths of person till his rebirth. It is not a place
to dig but Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) said;
“Grave is either a garden from the gardens of paradise or hole from the holes of Hell.”

6|Page
 The Day of Judgement is an event which includes destruction of whole world and their
resurrection.
 Dead persons will come out of their graves and gather at the place of Arafat.
 Scaling books of deeds is the difficult stage where person deeds will be measured in front
of Allah Almighty.
 Person will be accountable to Allah for his actions. The one whose good deeds will be
heavy will enter paradise and with bad deeds will enter Hell.
 River and pool of Kawthar is river in Paradise whose water is whiter and sweeter than
milk.
 Sirat is bridge which every person has to pass to enter paradise and below it, there will be
hell.
 People who done bad deeds in the temporary world will enter Hell as a punishment and
they will remain there forever.
 People who done good deeds will surely enter paradise. In Quran, Allah described
Paradise as;
“Allah has promised to Believers, men and women, gardens under which rivers flow, to
dwell therein, and beautiful mansions in gardens of everlasting bliss.”

Physics of the Day of Judgment:

The idea that mankind will rise from the grave, an indispensable part of the three Abrahamic
faiths Islam, Christianity, and Judaism, isn't only a fable or wishful thinking but is based on
actual medical thoughts. Rising up from the grave and coming returned alive can show up in
reality with the reversal of time.

"When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall then we indeed be raised
again?" (Quran 56:47)

"Man thinks that, we shall not assemble his bones, Yes truly! We are able to restore his very
fingers!" (Quran 75:3-4)

With development in era and technology we typically

generally tend to look the area from the critical eye of
science. We see people dying however nobody has lower
returned from the dead to inform us approximately
afterlife. Is it feasible to truly comprehend that there may
be lifestyles after demise aside from spiritual belief?
There is a surprising answer which we can have as
generation has advanced to the issue that it's miles viable
to examine the very basis of fact as we recognize it, the
fabric of area and time.

7|Page
Is Resurrection a Physical Process?
No doubt resurrection is a physical process in the laws of nature so we cannot deny this reality.
About resurrection Quran also explained and hinted about it. Our holy prophet also signed in
many places about the resurrection and its dreadful situations. At this day all human beings
will come out from their graves and will gather in front of Lord and answer about their good
and bad deeds.

There are some primary issues about the Day of

Judgement described in the holy Quran:

There will be a last earthquake that will change

the earth into a hole.
Dead people will wake up from their graves.
A time when our palm toes and tongue will
become witnesses in competition to us.
Opening of gates in the sky.

In all the above occasions we never deny this truth that the Day of Judgement will occur
someday. After the resurrection human beings will know their final result and will enter into
hell and paradise according to their deeds. After the resurrection day everything will be ended
forever and all humans will reach their final destiny that is paradise or hell for forever. So,
after this all discussion we cannot forget about occurrence of resurrection and its physical
process.

“The agony of death comes in truth; this is what you wished to avoid, and the trumpet is
blown; this is the threatened Day."

(Qur'an 50:19-20)

CONCLUSION:
Life without the concept of Day of Judgement would be very different in every aspect of life.
This concept shows a very high effect on human life as belief in Allah and the hereafter leads a
person to do correct deeds and charities, to keep away from evil and dreadful deeds, to be ready
with excessive ethics and merits, to worry Allah and to obey the divine standards imposed
through Him in whatever he does.
A character with this type of perception will in no way abandon honesty. He will do the whole
lot in time and fully. He behaves truly closer to himself, his family, his environment, his country
and humanity. He accepts it a precept to reveal love and compassion to them, to be beneficial for
them and to serve them. He in no way abandons justice; he in no way oppresses anyone. He
spends his cash and belongings on correct and beneficial things. He is aware of his rights and
respects the rights of others. He takes delight in assisting the poor. He needs for his believing
brothers what he needs for himself due to the fact he certainly believes within side the hereafter,
the day of praise and punishment and is aware of that what's completed on this global could be
accounted for within side the hereafter; he bases his acts in this precept. So the belief of day of

judgement affects a person’s life from the beginning till the end and we can’t deny it as
Almighty has made it one of the five pillars which is obligatory for every Muslim to have a firm
believe on it.
