1. The causes why the shunts eventually open is the bulb do not get enough voltage. The
voltage is divided into nine but that's why the cirtcuit form an alternative path through
which a portion of the curent may pass, but the current which is the same in all bulb is not
enough that causes the nine bulbs to burnout.
2. The equivalent resistance of the series out is higher to the three resistors in paralle: The
current through the series is lower to the current provided by the same voltage applied to
the peak cut. The power dissipated by the restorin series is qual to the power dissipated
by the resistors in parallel.
