    Research was conducted from June to November 2015 on rice fields and with farmers in Limau Manis Padang Kota Tangah and Budi Laboratory Animal Resources Department of Agriculture Faculty of Agriculture University Andalas. The experiment used a complete random design with 3 treatments and 3 replications of 9 plots to test the effects of different organic materials: (A) flooding for 1 week before panicles appeared, (B) flooding when panicles emerged, and (C) flooding after 1 week of panicles emerging. The results showed that flooding earlier in the growth cycle led to less growth and development of rice plants, which formed more aerenchym roots using more energy.

    ABSTRACT

    Research was conducted from Jun - Nov 2015. Experiments carried out rice
    field and farmers Limau Manis Padang Kota Tangah and Budi Laboratory
    Animal Resources Department of Agriculture Faculty of Agriculture University
    Andalas.Rancangan used in this experiment is Complete Random Design
    (RAL) with 3 treatments and 3 replications, so the whole experiment consisted
    of 9 plot / map of the experiment. From each experimental plot is drawn at
    random sample of 10 plants. Treatment is a source of organic material that is:
    (A) 1 week Pengenangan water during initial selelum panicles appear (38 days
    after planting), (B) Pengenangan water when panicles emerged (45 days after
    planting) and (C) Pengenangan water after 1 week malai out (52 days after
    planting). Samples observed in plants growth and development and production.
