PART 2. SONG REVIEW

1. Buloy

Buloy is a song that may sound happy, upbeat on the inside and can get the
interest of the people, which may cause the song become prominent to the people.
But, this song hides a tragic and grievous story behind. Buloy is a song from a
band, named, Parokya ni Edgar, and it was written by Chito Miranda. This song is
a band’s debut single from their album Khangkhungkherrnitz. The song “Buloy” is
about a person, a real person who woefully and heartrendingly committed suicide
because of personal problems.

Buloy is a song which deals with grief, loneliness, and sorrow, and this dilemma
can overcome through the advice, presence of our peers and from the people that
we trusted. Based on the song, “Lahat ng problema'y kayang lampasan, Basta't
tayo'y nagsasama at nag-iinuman”, indeed having a talk over a drink with friends
can help lessen and forget our problems even in a short time. They cheer you up,
give you a laughter as a temporary remedy to the problem, but, every story has a
twist, despite of all cheers, laughers, and deep talks, it is not enough to end the
problem, the grief and the sorrow that we feel. And oftentimes we thought that
ending our life it the most effective way to end and escape the problem. And I
think, he thought that ending his life is the only way to escape his griefs and
sorrows in life.
2. Kaleidoscope

Kaleidoscope, a song that is one of the highly celebrated song of the

Master rapper, Francis Magalona. This song reminds us and encourages us that
we should unite and be one despite of our differences and diversities. The
song’s melody represents what differences brings. Each of us is different, and
we can’t deny the fact that we’re not perfect and we still need to grow and
have a room for improvement and lack of some things in life. But, we give them
less important and worse we discriminate them because we, people, think that
being different from the crowd are very low and don’t have the talent to unveil.

But, this song reminds us that every person is unique and special, and
that what makes the world more interesting and become a better place to live.
We need a different shades and colors. Differences are needed to build a more
vibrant and colorful world. Because every one of us is different, has different
talents and skills that needs to be proud of. Like the Kaleidoscope, it needs
different colors that was put together, for us to have a fascinating and immense
sight. Without those different colors, their differences, we can’t see how
beautiful the world is, we only see a monochromatic world. We need to be
different, we only need to do is to see the differences in a positive perspective.
It is all about us. And how we should value our different differences.

discrimination which is happening today in our country. The band mainly
exemplifies concerning about the human rights through the relationship
between us people and the society. The song nor the band desires to restore
and return to a world where there is fairness in all aspects, empathy, humanity
and equality among individual.

This song help us to realize how the society and we, people changed.
How we forget to value others, how to treat each other and their rights in this
society and as a human being. We should always consider the feelings of others
and know that discrimination, intolerance and war will only generates hate and
