This assignment aims to give students the knowledge and understanding of the concept behind
international business. This group written assignments will guide students to understand, apply, and
integrate international business theory/models/principals and/or concepts to explain real world
scenario. The written assignments will also expose students to current and/or recognized knowledge
through support citations of authorities from published materials; academic journals, academic texts
and professional publications and business media. Lastly, this assignments aim to foster independent
learning and better time management.
Scenario
A local biscuit manufacturer of your choice is planning to expand their operation beyond Malaysia to
explore the opportunity in the Asian market. However, they have yet to decide which country to
enter first and how they should enter the country. Your team has been appointed as the business
consultant of the manufacturer of your choice to help them on their business expansion.
Task 1 (Group)
Preparing a research report (max 2500 words)
You are required to form into a group (max 5 members) and prepare a report for the chosen
company. Your research should cover, but not limited to the following key areas:
Select a country of your choice, and justify why the country chosen is suitable through
external environmental analysis.
Discuss if there is any trade policies or cooperation among the government of home and host
country, which will favour the proposed expansion.
Select a market entry strategy and discuss why the strategy chosen is suitable for your
company.
Your report should be presented in professional format with not more than 2500 words. All
information should be correctly cited using Harvard Referencing format.
