Respected Principal, Teachers and my school fellows

ASSALAM-O-ALAIKUM
I am happy to join you in celebrating Defence Day and it’s a matter of great
pleasure to me that I am addressing the future leaders.  Dear fellows, we celebrate
this day in memory of those beloved and brave soldiers who fought bravely and
died in the Indo-Pak war of 1965 and made successful Defence of Lahore, Sialkot
and the desert area of Sindh.

On 6th September 1965, at 5 a.m., the Indian army attacked Pakistan from the
Lahore Burki Sector. This five-week war caused thousands of casualties on both
sides. It ended in a United Nations-mandated ceasefire. Pakistani Army officers like
Captain Sarwar Shaheed, Major Tufail Shaheed, and Major Raja Aziz Bhatti
Shaheed sacrificed their lives and were awarded Nishan e Haider for their
exceptional bravery.

The main reason to celebrate this day is to tell other Pakistani citizens how brave
Pakistani soldiers were. This day is celebrated for all the soldiers who were
martyred in the war while defending Pakistan so that the generation could live
peacefully.

Let us pay honour to our brave soldiers who were martyred for their country and
give a lesson to the enemy that they will never ever forget. Today we need that
eagerness, hope and faith to get it back on track. I would like to end my speech by
saying that Defence Day gives us a call for unity and the only thing that can hold
the chain of a country’s defence is UNITY.  PAKISTAN ZINDABAD!
THANK YOU
