CHAPTER 3: METHODOLOGY

I. Method of Research

The method that was used to conduct this study is a descriptive method. According

to Hassan (2022), a form of research approach called descriptive research design tries

to describe or record characteristics, tendencies, attitudes, views, or perceptions of the

population or group that is being studied. A descriptive research design avoids

attempting to anticipate future results or establish cause-and-effect correlations

between variables. Instead, it focuses on presenting a complete and accurate picture of

the information gathered, which may be helpful for coming up with theories, examining

trends, and seeing patterns in the information.

II. Research Locale

The study will be conducted in the Municipality of Pantabangan, wherein the

propose project site is located. The said municipality is composed of fourteen (14)

barangays, enough to gather an accurate data. The center of the municipality or the

“town”, will be expected to have more respondents since it is a place where most of the

college students reside.

III. Research Respondents

The respondents of this study are mainly the students and their parents (but not

limited to them). They are the ones who have enough knowledge and experiences to

answer the problem in this study. They are a huge help because they can answer the

questions with an accurate information that are needed in this study.

IV. Research Instrument

Diverse research tools were used to collect data on every architectural design

study possibility. Case studies, survey questions, interviews, and the usage of the

internet were the methods applied.

a. Case Study

Thesis books for architectural studies and other sources of information are

helpful in this kind of study. The study's viability can be increased through the usage

of books, journals, relevant publications, and studies. This kind of study was

employed through historical studies that were examined and verified to collect

concepts for creating basic principles for developing modern schools and how to

apply them in designing a building.

b. Survey

The researcher has developed questionnaires that collected some data with the

aid of the research goal responders that identified themselves as either interested

students or and the parents who want convenience for their child.

c. Internet Surfing

The researcher was able to get insight into certain appropriate cases and

concepts to provide a solid basis for the study with the help of the internet and

electronic equipment. Additionally, it makes the researcher's job easier because they

no longer have to physically seek for all the data they want.
