I spy with my little eye, something beginning with the LETTER. . .

i Spy alphabet
You Need: 3+ Players
Counters
(optional)
How to Play
1. One player starts as the ‘spy’.
2. The player must secretly choose a picture from the game board and
figure out what ‘letter’ it starts with.

Example:

grapes starts with ‘g’ jam starts with ‘j’ frog starts with ‘f’

3. The spy must say aloud to the group:

“I spy with my little eye something beginning with the letter ___” and say
the letter that matches the picture they have chosen.

4. The other players must race to guess which picture they think the spy
has chosen. The first player to say the correct picture aloud WINS!

5. That player becomes the next spy and chooses a new picture to
repeat the process.

Variations
Players only get one guess per round. If they are correct, they become
the spy. If they are incorrect, either another play has a chance to win or
the spy gets to play a new round as the spy again.

Players place a counter of their own colour onto the picture if they guess
correctly. The player with the most counters when time is up WINS!

iSpy Sounds (this game board is included in another resource file).

Players play the game as above, except they must focus on sounds:
“I spy with my little eye something beginning with the ___ sound”

Example: I spy something beginning with the ‘p’ sound.

Pull a letter out of a bag and race a 30 second clock to see how many
pictures you can find that begin with that letter. Players can write or
draw what they find and compare at the end. The player with the most
findings WINS!
