The study’s purpose, method, and major findings:

This study aims to evaluate the effects of entrepreneurship on Nigeria's economic growth, as well
as the barriers to entrepreneurship in order to recommend some possible policies that can
encourage efficient and effective entrepreneurship in the said country. It also aims to find out the
correlation on the impact of entrepreneurship on Nigeria's economic growth and development.

The impact of entrepreneurship on economic development in Nigeria is empirically evaluated in this

study. Multiple regression, chi-square, independent sample test (t-test), and ANOVA were used in
the study. In addition, frequency distribution tables, bar charts, and pie charts were used in the
analysis thus, the information gathered was analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative
methods.

The findings revealed that, even though all Nigerians are accustomed to entrepreneurship, female
entrepreneurs experience more challenges than male entrepreneurs in their country. It also showed
that while entrepreneurship has a positive effect on economic growth, certain barriers to
entrepreneurship can also impeded Nigeria's economic advancement. So, it shows the high
correlation between entrepreneurship and economic development in Nigeria. The findings also
indicated that, while the government's entrepreneurship programs can boost the economy, they are
still insufficient to address Nigeria's unemployment problem.

What are the main variables in this study?

It is necessary to determine the impact of entrepreneurship on the growth of the economy of a lower
middle-income country like Nigeria. In this study, the entrepreneurship serves as the independent
variable as it contains different factors that contributed a lot to the effect of Nigeria’s economic
growth. On the other side, Nigeria’s economic growth is the dependent variable of the study
because it highlights the effects of entrepreneurship on Nigeria's economic growth and how much it
overtook South Africa into becoming Africa's economic powerhouse and the world's sixth extremely
fast country after Indonesia.
What kind of argument/claim can this study help you make?
Nigeria is claimed to be the country that has the largest economy in Africa due to the emergence
of entrepreneurship in their state which contributed a lot in their economic growth. The study argues
that in Nigeria, female entrepreneurs encounter difficulties than male entrepreneurs, regardless of
ethnicity. In addition, the study asserted that although the government's entrepreneurship programs
can help to grow the economy, they cannot fully address Nigeria's unemployment problem
therefore, the government should cultivate effective and efficient economic policy reforms to ensure
the long-term effectiveness of Nigerian economic progress. Since the study showed the relationship
between entrepreneurship and economic development of Nigeria, it attests that economic
development might occur but can also cause drawbacks. Perhaps the question is, does the promotion
and growth of entrepreneurship truly benefited Nigeria, or has it worsened the situation? As the
study concentrated on some of the potential effects of entrepreneurship in Nigeria as well as the
barriers to entrepreneurship in the country, it revealed the impact of the entrepreneurship to the
economic development of Nigeria.
