Dušan Vlahović vs. Erling Braut Haaland
There have been wonderful and extraordinary comparisons between football players over the
existing of football. But there have been younger players in this current century who have been
produced with a lot of ambition and both the physical and mental strength to reach the heights of
their idols in football. There has been a debate between Dušan Vlahović and Erling Haaland for a
while now. Let’s find out who’s really the better footballer. First off: Dušan Vlahovič. Dušan
Vlahovič is a 22 year-old Serbian professional footballer, born in Belgrade on 28th January 2000,
who currently plays as a centre-forward for Serie A club Juventus and the Serbian national team.
He started his professional career at FK Partizan at only 15 years old. In June 2017, he joined
Serie A club Fiorentina on a five-year preliminary contract which came into full effect when he
was officially signed by the club on the 22nd of February 2018, where he wore the number 18 on
his kit. On 28 January 2022, on the day of his 22nd birthday, Vlahović signed for Juventus on a
four-and-a-half-year contract. The transfer deal from Fiorentina to Juventus was worth €70
million, plus €10 million in performance-related bonuses, making him the most expensive
transfer in the Serie A winter transfer window. Dušan Vlahović’s style of play is picking up the
ball in central areas or the inside right or left channels and maintaining possession. His best
assets are his strength to hold up the ball, and then his ability to turn and dribble past the first
defender. For Partizan, he has scored 3 goals in 27 appearances and has one assist in total for the
club. For Fiorentina, he has scored 49 goals in a whopping 108 appearances with 8 assists in
total. For Juventus, he has scored 9 goals in 21 appearances, with two assists to his name in total
currently this season.

Lastly: Erling Braut Haaland. Erling Braut Haaland is a Norwegian professional footballer who
plays as a striker for Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and the Norway national team.
Currently, he is expected to join Premier League club Manchester City on 1 July 2022. Haaland
was born on 21 July 2000 in Leeds, England, as his father Alfie Haaland was playing for Leeds
United in the Premier League at the time. In 2004, at the age of three, he moved to Bryne, his
parents' hometown in Norway. Haaland started in the academy of his hometown club Bryne at
the age of five. He first started as a winger, but then got put in his favoured central role as a
striker after a few matches. He made his debut for his new club, Molde, on 26th April in a
Norwegian Cup match against Volda TI, scoring on his debut in a 3–2 win. In the following
season, he began to impress more. He scored his first goal in UEFA competition on 26 July,
converting a penalty in Molde's 3–0 Europa League qualifying victory against Albanian side, KF
Laçi. On 19 August 2018, Austrian Bundesliga champions Red Bull Salzburg announced that
Haaland would join the club on 1 January 2019, signing a five-year contract. He then scored all
three goals in Salbzurg's 3–0 victory at Wolfsberger AC on 10 November, recording his fifth
hat-trick of the season. On the 29th of December, 2019, Haaland signed a four-and-a-half-year
contract with Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. He made his debut for the club away at FC
Augsburg on 18th January 2020, coming on as a second-half substitute and scoring a hat-trick
within 23 minutes in a 5–3 win. This made him only the second player in Dortmund history after
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score three goals on their Bundesliga debut. Six days later,
Haaland once again came off the bench, making his second club appearance in Dortmund's
match against local rivals 1. FC Köln. He scored after twelve minutes and scored a second goal
ten minutes later, helping his side to a 5–1 victory. In the 2021–22 season, which would
ultimately be his last for the club, he started with a hat-trick over Wehen Wiesbaden in the first
round of the DFB-Pokal on 7 August 2021. Injuries plagued him throughout the season, but that
didn't stop him from scoring his 50th Bundesliga goal against Wolfsburg in a 3-1 victory,
becoming the youngest player to score 50 league goals.
On the 10th of May 2022, Borussia Dortmund announced that Haaland would be the club at the
end of the season to Premier League side Manchester City.
Erling Braut Haaland’s style of play is where he uses his sizeable frame to hold play up
effectively and involve others. He has the pace and clever movement to run in behind; he can
dribble and create; and he can finish with both feet and his head. He usually comes deep to
collect the ball to help his team build play, often looking to spread the ball wide for a teammate,
before turning and sprinting towards goal. He sometimes comes too deep for the defenders to not
follow him; as such he has the awareness to turn on the ball and create from a forward-facing
position. In the penalty area, he makes small, sharp movements to spot an opportunity for a
teammate to attempt to find him in space, and change the line on which he is running and
accelerate into that space, making him extremely difficult for defenders to read.For Bryne, he has
scored 18 goals in 30 appearances for the club in total. For Molde, he has scored 20 goals in 50
appearances for the club in total. For RB Salzburg, where some critics say he reached his
pre-peak, he has scored 29 goals in 27 appearances for the club in total. For Dortmund, he has
scored 86 goals in 89 appearances for the club in total. In his career total currently, he has scored
155 goals in 200 appearances across all competitions. Ridiculous numbers.
