Commas is denoted by (,) and the uses of commas is : Commas signify a break in a
complek sentence or indicate several things separated in a long list. Commas to separate three
group of words in one sentence. Commas to show non-defining adjective clause. Commas to
show words or phrases that serve only as additions. Commas to show a words and phrases.
Comma is use after the to infinitive which is at the beginning of the sentence. Commas to
separate agroup of clauses. Commas to To separate two or more adjectives that describe the
same thing. Commas to indicate the person being called or spoken of. Commas after answers
yes or no. Commas in writing date.

2. Colon and Semicolon

Colon is denoted by (:) there are several uses of colon. The uses of colon is : 1.

After a statement in the form of several examples or items, 2. To distinguish between a

statement and an explanation, 3. Before a word or sentence as an explanation, 4. After

greeting in a letter, 5. In order to show the time, 6. Before appositive (word in addition) for

emphasis. Then Semicolon is denoted by (;) and the uses of semicolon is : 1. To separate two

independent clauses (main sentence), 2. To separate sentences that are too long, 3. To

separate two independent clauses (main sentence) which are connected by a conjunctive

adverb, 4. To separate things that contain commas
