Introduction

 Phase change materials are substances that absorb and release heat energy when they change phase
PCM in (known as latent heat). When a material melts, it changes from a solid phase to a liquid phase. During the
Pakistan phase transition, many materials are able to absorb a significant amount of heat energy. The opposite is true
when the material freezes and solidifies
 Phase change materials are useful because they melt and solidify at specific, defined temperatures, making
Proposal them suitable as well as efficient to control the temperature in range of diverse applications.
 With the rise in global demand of energy and the depletion of fossil fuels, countries like Pakistan are facing a

Introduction

 Pakistan is an ideal candidate for the use of PCM. Due to the semi arid climate of the country, it comes within
PCM in the temperature range required for the melting and solidification of phase change materials.
Pakistan  To show the potential PCM has in Pakistan, we chose a case study (which was part of a thesis) of the use of
PCM in Chah Bahar (near the coast of Makran), Iran. As Iran has a similar climate to that of Pakistan.
 For the case study, two modules were selected by considering them as single thermal zone.
