10+2 TECHNICAL ENTRY SCHEME - 50

ISSUE OF CORRIGENDUM TO NOTIFICATION FOR TES-50 COURSE (JAN-2024)

1. The following amendments have been made in the notification published for
TES-50 Course (Jan 2024) on 01 Jun 23 on www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.

For

Para 2 (a) Nationality. A candidate must be an unmarried male and must either be : (i) A
citizen of India, or (ii) A subject of Nepal, or (iii) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from
Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic
of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently
settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii) and (iii) above shall be a
person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by Govt of India. Certificate of
eligibility will however not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of
Nepal. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be shortlisted
provisionally subject to the necessary certificate being given to him by the Govt before
declaration of result by SSB/joining training.

(iv) A Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st Jan 1962 with the intention of

African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika
and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of
permanently settling in India.

Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv), (v) above shall be a
person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by Govt of India.
Certificate of eligibility will, however, not be necessary in the case of candidates who are
Gorkha subjects of Nepal. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is
necessary may be admitted to the examination provisionally subject to the necessary

certificate being given to him by the Govt before declaration of result by SSB/joining
training.

For

Para 3 Vacancies. 90. The Vacancies are provisional and can be changed depending on the
training capacity at the Training Academy for this course. The vacancies are subject to
increase/decrease keeping the organizational requirement at that point of time.

For

Para 6 Training. Total training will be of 5 years. Details are as under:

(a) Basic Military Training. 1 year (Officer Training Academy, Gaya) or any other
Training Institute decided by the Indian Army.

(b) Technical Training. (i) Phase-I (Pre Commission Training): 3 Years (CME Pune or
MCTE Mhow or MCEME Secunderabad), (ii) Phase-II (Post Commission Training): 1 year
at CME Pune or MCTE Mhow or MCEME Secunderabad.

(c) Award of Degree. The candidates will be awarded Engineering degree after
successful completion of the final examination. No ante date seniority will be admissible to
candidates on account of this Engineering degree. During the last two semesters, the
officers will be permitted only one relegation on academic grounds. This relegation will be
within the maximum two relegations permitted on academic grounds in the entire
Engineering degree (8 semesters) in accordance with JNU Ordinance. Any further
relegation of the officer on academic grounds will lead to termination of his commission.

Para 6 Training. Total training will be of 4 years. Details are as under:-

(a) Phase-I. Integrated Basic Military Training & Engineering Training at CME,
Pune/MCTE, Mhow/MCEME, Secunderabad for three years.

(b) Phase-II. Integrated Basic Military Training & Engineering Training for one year at
IMA, Dehradun or designated PCTA (Pre Commission Training Academy).

(c) Award of Degree. The candidates will be awarded Engineering degree after
successful completion of 04 (four) years training. No ante date seniority will be admissible
to candidates on account of this Engineering degree. During the entire training duration of
four years a maximum of two relegations will be permitted on account of academic
grounds in accordance with JNU Ordinance. Any further relegation on academic grounds
will lead to withdrawal from training.

For

Para 7 Cost of Training. ₹13,940/- (as on 2021) and as notified from time to time per week (for
the period of candidate’s stay at the Officers Training Academy, Gaya/Cadet Training Wing.)

The cost of training is borne by State; will be recovered from candidates withdrawing for
personal reasons.

Para 12 (e) Candidates recommended by the SSBs and declared medically fit, will be issued
joining letters for training in the order of merit, depending on the number of vacancies available.

required to fill three choices for respective Cadets Training Wings. All choices will be
required to be mandatorily filled. There should be no common choices. Choice cannot be
changed once made by the candidate. Filling of choice will not determine allocation of
Cadets Training Wings. Final allocation of Cadets Training Wings will be decided by
Indian Army and will be indicated in the joining instructions issued. No representation or
change of Cadets Training Wings will be permitted.

for the Cadets of NDA entry under AI 53/78.

THE BASIS OF MARKS OBTAINED BY THE CANDIDATE AT SSB INTERVIEW. HIGHER
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, PREVIOUS PERFORMANCES, NCC BACKGROUND
ETC. HAVE NO ROLE TO PLAY FOR FINALIZATION OF MERIT LIST. JOINING LETTERS
TO JOIN PRE-COMMISSION TRAINING AT OTA, GAYA WILL ONLY BE ISSUED SUBJECT
TO VACANCIES AND MEDICAL FITNESS.

TO VACANCIES AND MEDICAL FITNESS.
