Every course available for application at Oxford and Cambridge has many times more applicants
than they have places to offer. This does differ from course to course, with some being much more
competitive than others. Your particular course, Medicine, has 6 for each place. This results in a
basic 18% chance of success
Similarly to your course choice, you college choice can have an impact on your success rate.
However, this isn’t as impactful as your course choice as both Oxford and Cambridge have
systems in place which reallocate candidates to different colleges if they are applying to an
oversubscribed college. This ensures that each candidate has a fair chance. Your college choice,
I'm not sure has an overall success rate of 25%.

Positive Areas
Every candidate has positive areas that make them a stronger candidate than the rest of
the application cohort. Here are the areas that are positive for you.
As with GCSE results, your predicted A-level grades have a large impact on whether you are invited to
interview and ultimately offered a place. Your predicted A-level grades are amongst the highest achievable
so congratulations on your progress so far.Again, as with GCSEs, the average successful applicant to
Oxbridge tends to have the highest predicted grades.Although the minimum entry requirements for most
courses are A*A* A, chances for success are dramatically increased with A*A* A*. With your grades, you are
in the best possible position to proceed with the other aspects of your application.
Your GCSE results have a big impact on your overall success rate, however, even students with stellar
grades can fall short through their admissions test and interview results. As your GCSE results are good, but
not amongst the highest achievable. This does not mean your chances of getting into Oxbridge are nil,
however, you will have to perform strongly in other areas of your application in order to succeed. For
reference, the average successful applicant to Cambridge had an average of eight 9s and two 8s(across all
courses – more competitive courses have higher average grades).

UniAdmissions have supported over 1,000 students with their Oxbridge applications over
the years – through this time we have built up a keen understanding of what Oxbridge
admissions tutors are looking for. Our formula has been proven year after year with
UniAdmissions tripling the national average success rate. So much so, that we felt we
could provide a fairly accurate estimate of a student’s chances by speaking with them
about their background, academic performance and how much work they were willing to
put in. So why not take it one step further?
The calculator takes into account hundreds of factors (there’s more going on behind the
scenes), how these factors impact one another, and their weight on the overall success
rate. Our system considers over 100,000 data points to create your final success rate.
The information in our systems come from our own data, Oxford, Cambridge and
government sources. Rest assured, the success rate you’ve been given is firmly grounded
in real data.
Of course, all this data is based on the information that you’ve given. In order to get a

The UniAdmissions success statistic is based off the fact that we have, year-after-year, been
able to achieve success rates more than triple the national average for Oxbridge applicants.
This figure is something we are confident in sharing, however again, it must be noted that this
is not a guaranted percentage.
Ultimately, the fate of your application lies in the hands of Oxbridge admissions tutors.
UniAdmissions exist to strengthen all the factors that admissions tutors consider when
making their final decision.
