The document summarizes a reverse engineering project completed by Ava Ghazanfari, Fiona Abdu and Isabel Valencia. They designed and 3D printed a multi-tool box containing a tape measure, level, and flashlight connected with circuits. The box is meant to aid with construction and home projects by providing measurement, leveling, and lighting functions through integrated tools. The students reflected that the reverse engineering project was challenging but taught them perseverance and new technical skills.

❏ Level: determine plumness of objects ❏ Lights: parallel circuit ❏ Battery: three 1.5 volt batteries, series circuit. FAI Designs
❏ Made out of 3D printing materials
❏ function of the object: Aid in construction and home projects ❏ who makes the object: could be made by companies who focus on home improvement How the Object Operates
❏ identify the inputs: plastic, metal, water (level) and
solder. ❏ Functions: measures the length/width of objects, aids in determining if objects are level and provides a flashlight. ❏ Outputs: measurements, plumbness and light. ❏ Consumers could use it for measuring, leveling and lighting while working on a specific project. CAD model To reflect, Ava, Isabel and Fiona worked on this reverse engineering project together. The project was challenging but fun, it taught us a lot of things like perseverance. The 3D printed box consists of, a spot to hold a tape measure, a hole for a level, a hole for a button to turn on the lights which are connected on a parallel circuit board, and a spot for the actual light to beam out of.
We have a CAD model of our project
that was created on Fusion 360. We used a lot of new tools for this project like, a soldering iron, a sander and a 3D printer. Overall, the reverse engineering project was a difficult task but in the end we learned a lot and had fun doing it.
