Describing
Activity 11. Find someone who... (ONLINE)
Connecting with someone because of how they think, act, or look is a way of being social.
Today, technology and social media make it possible for us to find and connect with
people who are similar to us. For example, on TikTok's "For You" page, you can see
videos that match your interests, thanks to the app's special program. When you like a
video, you can interact with others who have similar likes and interests.
In this activity, you will use the words you learned to describe your favorite influencer and
talk about their emotions and feelings. We encourage you to be creative.

Objective:
By the end of this activity, you will learn how to make sentences using words to talk about
emotions, feelings, and how people look.

Instructions:
1. Watch the following video about different traits and physical appearance of people,
like hair color and eye color.
Remember: When we describe people, we use the verb "to be" in its correct form
(am, are, and is).
Subject + verb to be + adjective
However, there is another way we can describe people. We can use the verb
"have" or "has."
Subject + have/has adjective + complement
For example:

• I have a round face.

• She has pretty eyes.
• He has brown hair.

31
2. After watching the video, click on the "Try to Solve" button and answer each
question accordingly.
3. Check your answers.

Note: Make sure to answer all the questions and complete the activity, otherwise, your
answers will not be saved.

Evaluation criteria
• Answer all questions correctly.
• Submit your responses on time.

32
At school Activity suggestion 3
Don't forget that the final project you complete during this third “At School” session will
serve as evidence of your work.

Dear Teacher:
In this section, we provide you with a series of activities to do during the At school session.
To participate in each activity, students will need specific materials and will work together
in teams.
Activity 1. What we learned? (AT SCHOOL )
Now it's time to review the vocabulary we have learned in this module. Let's play a game
and test your knowledge. Are you ready?

Before starting the game

Get ready! Before we begin this activity, your teacher will give you a blank piece of paper.

1. On that paper, write down a word that you have learned during this module,
but keep it a secret 🤫. You can choose an emotion, feeling, or adjective as
a hint.
2. After you finish writing your secret word, fold the paper and give it to your
teacher. They will collect all the papers and put them in a baggie.
3. Divide into two teams within the group.

Let's get ready to play

1. Choose one student from each team to come to the front of the class. Each
student will take out a piece of paper from the baggie.

2. Silently read the word on the paper and act out the concept to your
classmates without speaking.

3. The first team to guess the word correctly earns a point.

33
• Keep playing the game until you have reviewed enough vocabulary.
• The team with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.

To finish the activity

Take a picture of the vocabulary that your team successfully described and upload it in
the designated area.

Final Integrating Product. Quiz (AT SCHOOL )

One way to learn more about your favorite influencer or celebrity is by reading interviews.
In this activity, you will apply the vocabulary you have learned in this module by writing an
article that describes your influencer.

Remember, this article is part of the digital magazine that you will create during the
Semestre Base.

Objective:
You will use the vocabulary we learned during the module.

Instructions:
1. Work together as a team.
2. Select one of the influencers you worked with individually throughout the module.
3. Design a magazine article in Canva in which you describe:
• Who is he/she?
• Which one is his hobbie?
• How does she/he feel?
• Physical characteristics
• Clothing preferences
• Data you consider necessary
• Images or photograph that best represent him/her.
