LAW OF CONSERVATION OF ENERGY + LAW OF CONSERVATION OF MATTER + LAW OF CONTINUOUS

CREATION

➢ This picture depicts a forest fire where we can see trees burning. As we know, when trees are
burning, they emit carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. But how did this happen? Trees hold
carbon while they grow (a natural process), so in line with this, when a tree is burning, all of its
stored carbon (and energy) will be transformed into carbon dioxide that will negatively affect
our atmosphere and contribute to global warming.

YOUR ENVIRONMENT IS YOU

➢ According to ‘The Economist’, a lot of problems are hosted in squatter communities, including
high levels of crime, drug-related activities, and malnutrition. Also, sanitary issues are one of the
main concerns, resulting in an alarming rate of mortality. A study of Tondo found out that infant
deaths were three times the level in squatter settlements. As the description of this law stated,
"the way you treat your home actually reflects the kind of place where you live." This notion
explains why there are a lot of problems happening in informal settlements.
