Charlotte’s Web

One rainy night, some pigs were born. Mr. Arable, Fern’s father, want
to kill that small pig. After Fern know that her father wanted to kill that
small pig, Fern yell. Mrs. Arable, Fern mother, say “Your father was
right, the pig would die anyway.” Tears run down her cheeks. Fern say
to her father “It was unjust and unfair. If I born so small do you want to
kill me also?” Mr. Arable will bring that runt pig and he will let Fern
started in a bottle then Fern will see what trouble pig can make. Half an
hour later, Mr. Arable carries a carton under his arm. Mr. Arable put the
carton down at Fern’s place, because Mrs. Arable asks her husband to
put in Fern’s chair. Fern gave that small pig a name that was called
Wilbur.
Fern love Wilbur more than anything in this world. Every morning
after she wakes up, she warm Wilbur’s milk, and held for him. Every
afternoon, after the school bus stop, she run to the kitchen and fix
another bottle for Wilbur and at suppertime, she feed Wilbur again. For
the first few days, Wilbur was allowed to live in a box near the kitchen.
Then, Mrs. Arable complain, so, he move to a bigger box in the
woodshed, then, when he is already two weeks he move to outdoors.
Mr. Arable fixes a small yard near the apple tree and gives Wilbur a
large wooden box full of straw with a doorway. Every morning after
breakfast, Wilbur walks out to the road with Fern. While Fern is still in
the school, Wilbur shut up inside his yard. Wilbur was what calls the
spring pig, which means the pig that is born in springtime. When Wilbur
already five weeks, Mr. Arable want to sell Wilbur to Mr. Zuckerman’s
barn. Mr. Avery sells Wilbur six dollars to Uncle Homer.
The barn is so large and it smelled like a perspiration of horses,
wonderful sweet breath of a cow, grain of harness dressing, and of axle
grease and of rubber boots and of rope and sometime smell of fish. The

barn is warm in winter and cool in summer. Wilbur’s new home is in the
lower part of the barn. Pigs need warmth, and it is warm and
comfortable there. Everyday Fern always visit Wilbur and always seat
near Wilbur. All the animals in the barn like Fern because she is friendly
and quiet. Wilbur sees the loose board and pushes it. Wilbur likes to be
outside of the yard. Mr. Zuckerman chases Wilbur so, Wilbur run to an
apple orchard. Wilbur falls to the old pail trick. Mr. Zuckerman bring the
old pail trick to Wilbur’s yard so, Wilbur is in his yard again.
Fern mother come to doctor Dorian “Why now Fern always talk to the
animal in the barn and she thinks that the animals can answer her
question?” Doctor Dorian answer “Children pay much attention than
adult.”
The next day Wilbur plan his day like this:
6:30-7:00 : Breakfast
7:00-8:00 : Talk with Templeton the rat
8:00-9:00 : Nap
9:00-11:00 : Dig a hole
11:00-12:00: Stand still and watch bees, swallows and flies
12:00-1:00 : Lunch
1:00- 2:00 : Sleep
2:00-3:00 : Scratch itchy place
3:00-4:00 : Stand still and wait Fern come
4:00 : Supper
One night he went to sleep, after a several hours he heard the
voice that said “Wilbur, go to sleep now and you will see me
tomorrow in the morning.” The night seemed so long. Wilbur’s
stomach was empty and his mind was full. The second time he woke
up, he heard Templeton was gnawing in the hole. The first time he

woke up, he heard the goose was turning on his nest. In Wilbur’s
dream he heard again the voice saying “I’ll be a good friend to you.”
The next morning, Wilbur was calling his friend that actually his
friend was still asleep. At last Wilbur can talk and see his friend. His
friend was in the doorway. She was about the size of a gumdrop and
she has eight legs. She told Wilbur that her name was Charlotte A.
Cavatica, but just called me Charlotte. Wilbur said that Charlotte was
pretty and beautiful. Wilbur’s friend was a spider. Charlotte told
Wilbur that she was near-sighted. Charlotte explained Wilbur how
she eats her meal and what insects that she eats, “First, I dive at my
meals, second, I wrap him, and third, I knock it out. I eat flies, bugs,
grasshoppers, choice beetles, moths, butterflies crunchy cockroach,
gnats, midges, daddy long legs, centipedes, mosquitoes and
crickets.” Wilbur liked Charlotte more than anything.
The early summer days is the happiest day on the farm. It was an
early day in the farm; the eggs of the goose are hatching. The eggs
that are hatched are seven from eight eggs. The goose didn’t want
the egg that not yet hatches so, the goose gives the egg to
Templeton. Templeton has no morals, no conscience, no
consideration, no scruples, no decency, and no milk of rodent
kindness, no anything. He will kill all of the goslings if he could get
away with it. Templeton say that a rotten egg was a regular stink
bomb.
Wilbur liked Charlotte more than anything. The sheep told Wilbur
the bad news, “Mr. Zuckerman was fatting you because he wanted to
kill you, Wilbur.” Wilbur was so afraid because he doesn’t want to be
kill. Charlotte said that she promise to save Wilbur so he won’t be
killed.

One day, in the barn Charlotte make a miracle. The miracle she
makes is in her web. The miracle is a writing of SOME PIG. The next
day, Mr. Zuckerman is the first one that sees the miracle. Then,
Charlotte makes the miracle again. The miracle is a writing of
TERRIFIC. Mr. Zuckerman invites everybody to see that miracle.
There is one person that asks Mr. Zuckerman to bring his miracle pig
to the fair. So, the next day they will go to the fair.
Before the fair, Mrs. Zuckerman bath Wilbur with buttermilk. When
Wilbur was in the fair, he didn’t win the prize. The pig that wins the
prize is uncle that is in the next of his yard in the fair. Charlotte
makes a miracle again. The miracle is a writing of HUMBLE. Wilbur
still wins the prize, because he was a miracle pig. When Wilbur want
to go to the barn again, Charlotte told Wilbur that she cannot follow
him to the barn because after she laid the egg she will die. Wilbur
went back to the barn and brought Charlotte’s egg. The eggs hatched
in the barn. After the egg hatch, some of them go away. There are
three spiders that stay there. Wilbur gives the name of the spider:
Joy, Ramia, Mary.
