Animal Emissions:

1.) Would it be better if we feed our cats and dogs a full plant diet? It is a complex topic
that requires full consideration in both cats and dogs, since dogs and cats are
completely carnivores, which actually means that that they require specific nutrients
that are found in meats to maintain their optimal health, though a plant base diet is
completely doable we should also keep in mind that we should get the nutrients our
pets need, Is it better for the environmental health? Yes, pets would be more
environmentally friendly is they eat on a plant base diet, since meat based pet foods
have more environmental impact compared to plant based diet, however it’s important
to note the production of plant based foods will also has its own environmental issue,
like the use of pesticides and with fertilizers, as also said in the text that plant based diet
for cats are extremely dangerous and also has serious health consequences.

2.) By providing edible toys for dogs or recyclable wooden “trees” for cats, anything that it’s
renewable, sustainable and made with organic materials could be the most eco-
friendliest way to entertain our pets, also by using DIY toys is another way to provide
sustainable toys for our pets by making them by yourself, and using old toys, before
throwing them away make sure to consider whether they are still okay to use as a toy
or repurposed, by providing sustainable materials for our pet’s toys we can reduce the
environmental impact and achieving the most eco-friendly ways to entertain, while also
keeping our pets happy and entertained

3.) It also comes with environmental challenges that are overlooked, the wastes produced
by our pets is a significant contributor to environmental issue and also needs to be
addressed. Wastes of our pets has been filling up dog waste bins and cat litter trays, also
the poos of 163 million cats and dogs in the US alone produce as much as 90 million
americans. Studies says that dog poo that are left in the streets and are not picked up by
their owners has significant impact on the environment as it can be carried by rain
water the ends up in streams, rivers and other bodies of water.

4.) Reptiles, amphibians, spiders, birds and hamster are the best options for the
environment since, they don’t eat a lot or have proteins in their diet, generally smaller
pets have small environmental impact than larger pets, smaller animals takes up smaller
space, lesser food and water and leaves less carbon footrprint than large dogs or horse,
pets can have different habitats they can live outside or natural environment have a
smaller impact than pets that requires special care such as grooming, the most
environmentally friendly pet is one that is well cared for, smaller the better as it also has
a small environmental impact, and also still brings joy to the owner, you should consider
the impact of ownership on the environment and make choices that minimizes the
impact
