SUBJECT: EVOLUTION OF THE ENGINE/BEVEL GEARBOX COUPLING


VERSION OF 11/4/2016

Supersedes the version of 9/02/14: Change of cardan shaft screws


MLT 3B addition, changes to screws ref 4, modification of tightening of screws (cleaning of
threads with tap, tightening in a cross pattern and new tightening torque on page 9).

This new set-up consisting of a KTR brand flexible coupling as a replacement for the Glenco cardan
shaft is being installed gradually as standard on all machines with this kind of connection between
engine and angle gearbox.
At the same time, old machines with the Glenco cardan shift as standard can benefit from this
development.
The attached TI describes the after-sales service assembly procedure, and includes the list of
compatible machines.
This TI also includes details of the parts required for the repair of this new KTR coupling.
Note: Machines fitted with a Mercedes engine, as well as older models (pre-2000) are not included in the list of
models suitable for this new set-up.

- Remove old cardan A (Fig. A).


NOTE: Set aside the 8 fixing screws.

- Fully clean out the six tapped holes B and 140 dia bore C on
engine flywheel (Fig. B). B

CAUTION
NOTED: The assembly of the coupling is impossible if the driving
steering wheel does not possess tappings.

- Centre plate D on engine flywheel and fix it in place with six screws 5 (Fig. C). Fig. C
22 Tightening torque for 5 (H M10X20) screws : 60 N.m

CAUTION
NOTE: Screws will be mounted with normal
thread lock (P/N 187526).

- Position flanged plate E inside plate F


(Fig. D).

Pay attention to ensuring flanged plate E
is in its correct orientation.

NOTE: Hand screw in all screws in place
before tightening them.
22 Tightening torque for screws:
vis CHC M10X12 : 49 N.m
vis CHC M8X30 : 35 N.m

NOTE: Screws will be mounted with normal
