Ethnographic Research

In East Asia there is an Island country called Japan the red dotted country, it is located

Northwest of the Pacific Ocean. Japan has the 11th largest population in the world.

Interests of Japan

This specific non-western group has excellent safety and a very accessible and high

quality of life standards which makes it a very top location for students. It has the highest life

expectancy at birth according to 2016 OECD data. It maintains a very well- rounded education as

well.

Data collection

There are various methods of data collection within an ethnographic study like participant

observations, interviews, documentary data and surveys, its mainly to gain a deeper

understanding of the culture and more of the non-western group that’s being studied. This gives

us a qualitative approach within the potential yield.

Japanese think of themselves as a “homogeneous society “with a strong national identity

with no racial diversity there is a lot of practiced equality within this group which has made it a

well-respected nation and well-rounded people who have maintained peace with in its people for

the longest time and continue to be unique in their ways always.
