This tamper-proof system will incorporate advanced safety features and serve as a complement to the

existing Data Logger, commonly known as the ‘Black Box,’ used in rolling stock.

4. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced that Ahmednagar will be renamed

Ahilyanagar in an ode to 18th-century Maratha queen Ahilyabai Holkar who reigned Malwa from

year. Also known as the Star Festival, it is a Japanese festival originating from the Chinese Qixi

Festival.

5. The report titled “Forever Toxic: The Science on health threats from plastic recycling” was

released recently by Greenpeace Philippines. According to this report, recycling can increase the

toxicity of plastics.

1. Australia lifted the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Trophy in 2023.

2. Karman becomes the only Indian woman after Sania Mirza to win a pro title in the USA. She

earlier had won her maiden W60 ITF title in Saguenay last year.

3. India is the host of ‘Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships.’

4. India and Mumbai City FC footballer Lallianzuala Chhangte was named the All-India Football

Federation (AIFF) Men’s Footballer of the Year for 2022-23.

Manisha Kalyan was named the AIFF Women’s Footballer of the Year for 2022-23. She recently

became the first Indian to play in UEFA Women’s Champions League.
