To understand if ethics is important, you need to figure out what is success for you.

And answering it in my perspective, for me success is loads of money but with that a
sense of respect from the society.

I might earn money by an unethical mean but what about the peace inside? Will I still be
able to sleep sound?

I doubt.

And in order to have the peace inside while having the monetary aspect considered,
ethics is important! It tends to leave a mark on the people you interact with.

Not everyone is alright with someone who considers earning money over the ethics.

And as a matter of consideration, it is imbibed right since childhood.

You understand what is right and what is wrong. Just a sense of identifying What's right
for you would help you understand what's ethical.

Anything which keeps you thinking over a period and you wouldn't like it if that was
done to you, STOP! That's the point you realise it's not correct.

To end, consider yourself lucky to have the sense of deciding right and wrong and make
the most of it! Decide where you want to head and remember at the top, it's always you,
alone. When you look back, would you want the journey to be something you wouldn't
want to remember?

While giving in to illegal or unethical practices could lead to short term gains, it is harmful for
the growth of the company in the long run. As someone rightly said, “Success without
integrity is failure.”
