Composition 7 Term 4 (English)

Draft 2
Commuters were rushing here and there, checking their watches. Students crowded the station, carrying notebooks and bags. There were some Spanish tourists, flashing away with their cameras. This was the morning rush hour. A deep roar came from the tunnel and a Mass Rapid Transport train whizzed past, blowing a strong wind as it passed by. It screeched to a halt and the doors opened. A crowd emerged from it and as the last of passengers got out of the Mass Rapid Transport (MRT), a great ride of passengers surged inwards. I was sandwiched with my fellow students. I searched the seat for any vacant seats and found two. As I rushed towards it, a young couple arrived out of nowhere and sat on them. I felt a surge of disappointment and and anger filling me but contented myself by thinking that I could rest my tired feet at school later. So, I gripped a railing and stood. Within minutes, I reached the next station. The door opened and a young woman carrying an infant came in. She was a pitiful sight. She was struggling to carry an infant in one hand and a bag in the other hand. I looked around for vacant seats for her and but there was not any. The only priority seat was taken up by the young couple. I made up my mind to ask the young couple to stand up and give up their seats to the young mother carrying the infant. They were so deep in their conversation that they were oblivious to the fact that I asked them. I repeated again, this time my tone was louder. They turned and looked at me and saw the woman. They quickly stood up and offered her their seat. The woman said Thank you! I appreciate it. to me and sat down. Choa Chu Kang station arrived and I got out of the MRT and went to school. I soon forgot about the incident and continued on with the normal routine in school. After school, my principal, Mr Loo asked me to see her in my room. As I was walking towards her room, I was anxious to find out the reason. Mr Loo congratulated me for my kindness and courtesy. I was puzzled and asked her for an explanation. My cousin was the woman who carried the infant who was in the train, Then it all came to me. The young couples who I made them stand up and sacrifice the seat to the young mother. Then Mrs Loo said, Thank you very much. I will give you a box of chocolate as a present, and saying that, she gave me a box of chocolates. I understood that a good turn deserves another. Do a good deed and you may be repaid by the person like me.
