MARK SUPPORTS THE OPENING WITH THE TRIPLE WITNESSES.

FIRST, ANNOUNCED BY THE PROPHETS (1:1-8)

V.2.
Malachi 3:1.
“Behold, I send my messenger,
and he will prepare the way before me.

V.3.

Isaiah 40:3.
A voice cries: “In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD;
make straight in the desert a highway for our God.

The Messiah is God Himself.

SECOND, AFFIRMED BY THE FATHER (1:9-11)

V.10. “HEAVENS TORE OPEN”

Prayer of the Remanent: Isaiah 64:1-4.

“Oh, that you would rip open the heavens and descend,
make the mountains shudder at your presence.”

ADAM: (Luke 3:38)

ISRAEL: (Exodus 4:22)

“This promised Messiah is the Son of God.”

HOW DO WE APPLY THIS?

A. Vv. 1,14. HE IS THE ONE WHO COMES PROCLAIMING THE GOSPEL OF GOD

2.V.7. HE IS THE ONE OF WHOM THE BAPTIZER SAYS,

3.V.10. HE IS THE ONE IN WHOM THE DOVE DESCENDED

4.v.15. HE IS THE ONE WHO CAME SAYING, “THE TIME FULFILLED”

THEREFORE, “REPENT & BELIEVE”

FOR HE IS THE ONE WHO WILL PROVIDE THE ENCOURAGEMENT YOU NEED
