Data Analysis

The document outlines the statistical analysis that will be used on collected data, including Slovin's formula to calculate sample size, percentage distribution to determine demographic profiles, weighted mean to calculate averages with important values, standard deviation to measure data dispersion, and t-tests to compare group means. Likert scales will also be used to analyze assessments on a piece rate pay system's effects, problems, and recommendations, assigning point values to descriptive ratings.

Statistical Treatment of Data

The data to be gathered will be subjected to the following statistical

treatment:

1. Slovin’s formula - to calculate the appropriate sample size from a

population.
N
n=
1+ N e 2
Where: n - Sample size

N - Population size

e - Margin of error
2. Percentage distribution – to determine the demographic profile of the
respondents.
f
P= ∗100
N

Where: P - percentage

f - frequency of respondents

N - number of respondents

3. Weighted Mean – to calculate the final average of more important value

than other values. This is also used to know the variation in relative contribution
of individual values to the mean.
Σfw
w x=
Σw

Where: w x - weighted mean

Σfw - summation of product of frequencies and corresponding weights

Σw - summation of weights

4. Standard Deviation - to know if the data gathered from the

respondents was close to the mean or not. Statistical measure on how the data
were scattered and dispersed.
σ =√ n Σf d 2−¿ ¿ ¿

Where: σ - standard deviation of a sample

n - number of scores in sample

Σfd -

5. T-test - to determine if there is a significant difference between the

means of two groups.

x 1−x 2
t=

√ σ 21 σ 22
+
n1 n 2

Where: t - computed t-value

x 1 - mean (MPS) of the first group

x 2 - mean (MPS) of the second group

2
σ 1- variance of the first group
2
σ 2 - variance of the second group

n1 - number of respondents in the first group

n2 - number of respondents in the second group

6. Likert Scale Table - this will be used to determine the analysis of the
respondents' assessments in the effects of piece rate pay system in employees’
productivity and respondents' recommendations.

Table A. Likert Scale for Respondents’ Assessment on the Perceived Effects of

Piece Rate Pay System in Employees’ Productivity
