In the stories “The landlady” and “The Quiet Boy” point of view plays a major role in

depicting a story’s plot and theme, as we know from the story how it differs through the mindset

of authors and the way of their writing. Similarly in the following paragraphs we are going to

discuss the point of view of Billy Weaver and Julia who are also main characters of the stories

also, we are going to compare them.

If we first talk about description of both the characters, Billy Weaver is a teenager who

has come to a completely new city which is completely unknown to him, and he is quite an

innocent one who is completely unaware of the situation he is been through in the hotel he will

be staying that night. On the other hand, Julia who is also completely unaware of the situation

going through in the house of the boy named Lucas Weaver and hence both of the characters fall

in a great trouble.

Secondly, if we talk about Point of view both of them are really innocent and clueless but

then also they try to avoid it , such as in some aspects in the story as a reader we see that the evil

in their story are giving clue that their might be something fishy such as in landlady , Billy was

getting some hints that the landlady is quite creepy but according to him it was quite normal but

as reader we come to know that what was going on with him . Same way Julia was also curious

about the boy (Lucus) because of his actions, such as he always tries to escape whenever she

talked to him, and he usually tried to avoid talking about his mother and father but at first she

also neglects it after as a viewer we thought that they might be dead but according to her, he
might be lying something and it also this is how it explains to how similar the perception is of

the Billy weaver and Julia .

Lastly, we also examine that due to it we can also see that it changes the perception of

reader and will divert the reader from the main plot he has been trying to tell us and also it

describes the description of character, and they create a very dark theme and full of suspicion.

To conclude, I think that characters are very well described in the story and from

comparison we find many similarities in them and also it very much describes about the story

and it also alters the theme .
