TIME TRAVEL/HALLUCINATION!?

Grand Central Station
Charley, 31, is returning late

from the office and he is in a

hurry of catching a train from

the Grand Central Station.

Everybody knows about only

two levels at the station but

Charley had been to the

(hypothetical) third level.

Sam's Conclusion
Charley visits his psychiatrist

friend who calls it a 'waking

dream wish fulfillment' and

reasons Charley that he wants to

escape the modern world's

insecurities and stress. His hobby

of stamp collection is the

proof of his escapism.

Charley's Conviction
Charley's grandfather and

President Roosevelt also collected

stamps. They weren't insecure or

stressed to escape reality.

He is convinced and plans to

return to the 3rd level with

preparation.

4 The 3rd level

Open flame gas lights, fewer and

smaller ticket windows, wooden

information booth, spittoons, old

newspapers, old-fashioned

clothing and styles, Ives and

Currier locomotives, and

old-style bills.

Time Travel/Hallucination
Sam disappeared. Charley finds

a first-day cover while fidgeting

with his stamp collection. He

opens the letter and finds a note

by Sam that he was in 1894,

Galesburg, Illinois and that

for the 3rd level.
