Plan ahead for multiple ITS instances on one host: Set up OS directories before ITS
installation for website/scripts subdirectories
Create website in IIS, set virtual subdirectory to scripts, set properties X-Run in
separate memory space
Create ITSAdmin user in BW/R3 system, and ITSAdmin and ITSusers OS groups on
server (NT User Admin utility)
Install steps ITS per SAP@Web Installation Guide. To install multiple instances,
intitial steps are required. Steps outlined in SAP@Web Installation Guide show a
default installation. For multiple instances of ITS, install once for <BWSID1>, once
for <BWSID2> another time for ADM site (admin install if desired) (See OSS NOTEs)
QA - Verify scripts virtual subdirectory properties: X-Run in separate memory
space after ITS install, start/stop website in IIS, upgrade IE on server to 5.0plus.
Verify all .srvc service files [global.srvc, webgui.srvc (only if webgui is installed
seperately), webrfc.srvc, admin.srvc]
Release all WWW and RSBB functions in the BW system using transaction SMW0
Test complete webrfc and webgui functions using links
NT\I386\MMC directory, run ADS.exe and immc.exe per p34-35 of the NT BW 2.0a
SAP@Web Installation Guide
Plan for multiple ITS instances on one webserver - Set up OS directories for
website/scripts subdir
37MB space plus logs. Create OS directory of same name as website on destination drive –
suggested (ex. Both D:\ITS\<SID> and D:\ITS\ADM)
NOTE: IIS Website properties directory is this location – static 2MB, Set ITS install directory set
to same location as D:\ITS\<SID> above vs. default C:\Program Files\SAP\ITS\2.0\<SID> – This
directory
includes the dynamic log and trace directories ~35MB + . See Figure 1:
Figure 1: Example directory structure planning for future multiple ITS instances.
Create ITS directory. Create <SID> and ADM subdirectories. Create further
subdirectories called “scripts”.
Create <SID> and ADM Website in IIS, set virtual subdirectory to scripts
Create Virtual Subdirectory under each new website, pointing to the scripts subdirectories you
created in the previous step Reminder: Browse to select virtual scripts subdirectory. See following
illustration for sequence:
Figure 3: Enter <SID> (System Identifier) of the BW Instance for this ITS instance
Figure 8: MS IIS. Select new <SID> website and create new virtual directory.
Figure 12: MS IIS: Select “scripts” subdirectory. Select “properties”. Check “run in
separate memory space”.
Figure 15: BW System. Transaction SU01. Create ITSADM user with above
authorizations.
Note: Logout of NT and login to NT as the NT ITSAdmin user BEFORE the next
step. The installer IS the ITS admin.
Figure 25: Select “default configuration”. Note: when installing the ADM
(administration) ITS instance, use “minimize memory usage”.
Release all “WWW*” and “RSBB*” functions in the BW system, transaction SMW0:
Figure 33: BW System. Transaction SMW0. Select “Internet Release” menu. Select
“Function Modules.”
ITS Notes:
You will be asked to log in with your R/3 (BWB) login. All functions have been released.
The Administrator Workbench transaction (RSA1) is not functional in this release of the webgui. This
must be used only in SAPGUI.
The below ITS test function gives you all needed info for posting web queries -

Workplace Link:
There is an ITS admin service set up on the same port as well as the webgui service:

Troubleshooting:
If you see this error (screenshot) the reason is….and this is how to fix it!
create itsadm user in R/3 – remember username, pwd, client and host
create subdirectories for multiple instances, with scripts subdirectory under each, example: <SID>,
ADM
In MS Management Console for IIS, Rightclick on server, Create NEW website for each <SID>,
ADM, virtual subdirectory scripts, point to the ones you created at the OS level.
