BEFORE READING MY PAPA WALTZ

1. Complete the following sentence in any way that you feel is suitable:
A) A good father take care of his children and teach them right from wrong.
B) A bad father just think about only his self.

2. Think of an important male role model and say what you admire about him.
My male model is my father I admire him because he takes care of me and
make sure that I have everything that I need.

NOW THAT YOU HAVE FINISHED READ THE POEM:

1. Describe why waltzing with his father was not easy for the persona.
Ans: Because of the fear he has for his father. He would have to go through
physical abuse.

2. Use details in the poem to show whether the father is good or bad parent.
Ans: he is a bad parent because in the poem the whiskey on his breath
could make a small boy that shows a bad influence on the child and
encourages the boy to do the same and when the poem say every miss step
the boy right ear scarped a buckle that shows that he was abused.

3. State how you would describe the persona.

Ans: his persona was bad he is a bad influence on the child and a bad
example of a role model.
