BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

INTRODUCTION

A facility is a building, space, station used for specific or particular purposes. It is a

place where a qualified person does it job where a particular activity happens. Having properly

managed facilities increase the efficiency of the business. People will know where things are

kept, not having to waste time looking for materials and thus increasing efficiency. Facility

comprises land, building and furniture. It includes physical facilities for teaching space and

ancillary rooms.

A lack of facilities limits the ability of student to achieve various learning and extra

curricula activities. A lack of facilities has a negative impact on a teacher’s job satisfaction,

which undermine their motivation to teach. Researchers have found that the quality of school

facilities impact student learning. Students focus better when they’re comfortable, are more

likely attend classes, and maybe less likely to become ill. Classes with poor ventilation

discourage teaching and learning process, which results to student poor performance in

academics. Over- crowded classrooms and schools have consistency been linked increased level

of aggression in a student.

The main goal is to find out why the budget for the arts and design students strand is

lacking and the impact it has on the student who lack practice due to the lack of facilities and

equipment.
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

GENERAL PROBLEM

This study aims to know the problem why arts and design students experience lack of

facilities and equipment. The study conducted the senior high school student in TRENTO

NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL year 2022-2023. The result of the study will be used to give

solution to problem like this in different school.

SPECIFIC QUESTIONS

1. What is the equipment usually used for practice in arts and design students?

2. What is efficient way to have facilities and equipment at all?

3. What is the possible outcome of the students if there is no solution to that?

4. What is the possible solution to this problem?

5. What should be done in such situations?

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION

 This qualitative research aims to find the lacking why arts and design students

experiencing lacking of facilities and equipment. As a phenomenological study, this research is

to solve the problem of facilities and equipment among Senior High School Art’s and Design

student on 11 and 12. This is defined using convenience sampling and conducted on TRENTO,

NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL (S. Y 2022-2023).

In this qualitative research, the primary tool or the study is the questionnaire. The

interview guide is another resource. Thus, the researcher created the constructed interview guide

as a tool based on the study’s goals, it is composed of 5 questions. The interview question is

made to gather information about the subjects / participants experience about their problems on

how they practice even without or little equipment. It is validated by an expert teacher and

protocols are followed by asking permission to the participants who participates in the research.

In gathering data like interview allow you to gather rich information and draw more

detailed. Conclusion than other research methods emotional responses and because of the

participants is we can also conduct an interview through face to face. And also, in conducting

research interview is one on one interaction it’s not a normal conversation. As the interviews, it’s

expected that you are knowledgeable on the topic of the interview. Data analysis summarizes

collected data. It in values the interpretation of data gathered through the use of analytical and

logical reasoning to determine patterns, relationships or trends. Anonymity of participants is

secured likewise with the information they provide.

DEFINITION OF TERMS

Limit- is a restriction on the size or amount or something permissible (Meriam-Webster). In this

study, it is something that is not enough to use for a particular purpose.

Resources- is to provide (a person or organization) with materials, money, staff, and other assets

necessary for effective operation (……). In this study, it is the necessary things a learner needs to

achieve an effective education in the arts.
