known as Tony Succar is a
Peruvian percussionist who was
born in Lima on May 18, 1986.

Succar was born in a family where


musical talent abounded, as his
father Antonio Succar is a pianist
and his mother Mimy Tayrako is a
singer.

Succar was born in Lima, but was raised in Miami from the age of 2 because his family
migrated to the United States.

He studied in Miami at Sunset Senior High School, at a school Tony was interested in being a
professional footballer, but seeing that he was not successful when he applied to Florida
International University for a football scholarship, He ran for music school and was quickly
accepted for his Latin jazz audition. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in jazz and a
master’s degree in 2010.

Tonny began his musical career at a young age, where he was the director of a family band
and during his graduation they recorded his recital, which he released as an album in 2010.

Sucar after graduating continued at the faculty as a resident artist, working with students.
He created the collaborative project Unity in 2015, which was a musical tribute to Michael
Jackson and was released with a corcertain at the Olympia Theater in Miami, this album
managed to position itself at the top of the Billboard Tropical Albums chart.

It was nominated for the Latin Gramis Awards in the best tropical song category.

Sucar won two grams with the award for best producer of the year, and the best salsa album,
being in Peru won awards as the best artist of the year and the album of the year.

The sound that Succar has is refined and distinctive, they bring with them an explosive and
contagious energy, while their musical arrangements are more touching, which manage to
move those who hear them.

Tony Succar is a great Peruvian talent, recognized internationally, and recognizes being
proud of his origins.
