Weekend travel information

Dear Mr Radia,

If you are out and about over the weekend there are lots of public
transport options.

The information in this email could change, so please check before


you travel or use the TfL Go app to plan your journey.

Elizabeth line strike

Strike action will impact Elizabeth line services on Wednesday 24


and Thursday 25 May.
On Wednesday 24 May, there will be no service on the Elizabeth line
between Paddington and Abbey Wood.

A reduced service of eight trains per hour will run between


Liverpool Street National Rail platforms and Shenfield, and between
Paddington National Rail platforms and Reading/Heathrow. There
will be no Elizabeth line service at Whitechapel.

On Thursday 25 May, services between Paddington and Abbey


Wood, and to/from Whitechapel, will start later than normal with a
full service not expected before 08:30.

East and west sections of the line will start as normal but will
operate to and from Paddington and Liverpool Street National Rail
platforms until approximately 08:30. A good service is expected by
mid-morning.

Check before you travel, allow more time for your journey and plan

London Underground

Metropolitan line

Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 May


No service between Harrow-on-the-Hill and
Amersham/Chesham/Watford
Use the rail replacement bus services.
London Overground

Sunday 21 May
No service between Gospel Oak/South Tottenham
and Barking Riverside until 21:45

Use alternative Tube, local bus or rail replacement bus services.

Monday 22 until Thursday 25 May


No westbound service between Camden Road
and Willesden Junction after 23:45 each night

Use alternative Tube, London Overground or local bus services.

Elizabeth line

Strike action will affect Elizabeth line services on Wednesday 24


and Thursday 25 May. See above for further information.

Sunday 21 May
No service between Paddington and Ealing
Broadway until 07:45

Use alternative Tube or local bus services.


DLR

Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 May


No service between Prince Regent and Beckton

A rail replacement bus service will run.

Buses and roads

Bus journeys will be affected by the following changes this weekend. We


expect to run a good service, but buses may be delayed, diverted or stop
short of their normal destination.

Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 May


Hackney area

The Hackney 5K and Half Marathon will take place from 09:00 to
17:00. Road closures will be in place. They will start and end in
Hackney Marshes. Increased traffic and large crowds are
expected.

Twickenham Stadium

Twickenham Stadium will be hosting the HSBC London Sevens


Rugby from 09:30 to 19:00. Increased traffic and large crowds are
expected.

Central London area

The overnight Moonwalk London event will be taking place from


23:00 to 03:00. It will start and finish in Clapham Common. Large
crowds are expected.

Saturday 20 May
Wembley Stadium

Wembley Stadium will be hosting the Non League Finals Day


from 10:30 to 18:00. Kick off for the Isuzu FA Vase is at 12:15 and at
16:15 for the Isuzu FA Trophy. Increased traffic and large crowds
are expected.

O2 Arena, Greenwich

O2 Arena will be hosting Peter Kay Live from 18:30 to


23:30. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.

Sunday 21 May
Finsbury Park

Finsbury Park will be hosting the Finsbury Park Bumper Day


from 10:00 to 15:00. Large crowds are expected.

Westminster and central London area

The Big Fun Walk 2023 will take place from 10:00 to 15:00. It
will begin in Hampstead Heath and finish outside the QE11
Centre. Increased traffic and large crowds are expected.

From Friday 19 until Monday 22 May


Talgarth Road and Hammersmith Flyover

Between 20:00 on Friday 19 and 06:00 on Monday 22 May,


Talgarth Road will be closed between the Hammersmith
Gyratory and Shortlands Road.

The slip road on to the A4 from Shortlands Road will also be


closed. Customers are advised to follow the signed diversion
routes and to allow more time for their journey.

The Hammersmith Flyover will also be reduced to one lane from


two, eastbound only, from 20:00 to 06:00 each night. Westbound
traffic will not be affected.

Customers are advised to check before they travel for the latest
information on how roads are running.

From Friday 26 until Sunday 28 May


Ford RideLondon 2023

The annual cycling event, Ford RideLondon 2023, is back in


London and Essex on Sunday 28 May. There will also be cycling
events in Essex on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 May.

On Sunday 28 May, there will be extensive road closures in


central London, east London, and Essex, including some river
crossings, between 00:01 and approximately 21:00. Tube and rail
will be the best way to get around on 28 May.

Until Saturday 24 June


HS2 works at Swiss Cottage
Until Saturday 24 June, there will be a series of lane closures on
the A41 Finchley Road at the Swiss Cottage Gyratory and on
Avenue Road, College Crescent and Hilgrove Road. These are HS2
works ahead of construction of the new railway.

Delays are expected and you are advised to plan ahead and leave
more time for your journey. Some bus stops will be temporarily
closed or relocated. Visit Journey Planner or download TfL

Santander Cycles

The following docking stations will be suspended this weekend:

Westfield Library Corner


Corner, Shepherd's Bush
Christian Street
Street, Whitechapel
Leonard Circus
Circus, Shoreditch
Abyssinia Close
Close, Clapham Junction

The following docking station will be closed until the date stated:

Howick Place
Place, Westminster (until Monday 22 May)
